She was introduced to shooting at the age of 15 and had an inherent talent for marksmanship which was evident immediately after she started shooting.
During the college years, Lagan's shooting career grew significantly. She participated in the NRA Collegiate Shooting Competition. Moving forward, in 2017 and 2018, she won gold medals in Sport Pistol and Air pistol events respectively at the National Shooting Championships. Later in 2018, she represented the U.S. team at the Championship of the Americas, winning the gold medal in the Sport Pistol which qualified her for the 2020 Tokyo Olympics in Women’s Sport Pistol, Women’s Air Pistol, and Air Pistol Mixed Team, making her the first Olympian from Boulder City, Nevada and the First Olympic Marksman from the University of Utah.
In 2022, Lagan won two Gold Medals for 25m Rapid Fire Pistol and 10m Air Pistol events. Furthermore, in 2023, she won a silver medal in women's Air Pistol event and a bronze medal in women's Sport Pistol event and secured qualification for the 2024 Paris Olympics.
