Micah Maʻa was born on April 16, 1997, in Kāneʻohe, Hawaii, to Pono and Lisa Strand Maʻa, both professional volleyball players. He is a setter for the U.S. Men’s Volleyball National Team and Halkbank Ankara. He went to Punahou High School, winning the state championship four times and the basketball state championship in his first year and football in his second year before graduating in 2019. In 2022, Micah joined the roster of the professional volleyball team, Halkbank Ankara, of Turkey and played in the CEV Champions League and Turkish Men's Volleyball League. He won the Turkish Championship in 2024. Micah's girlfriend, Zana Muno, is a professional AVP beach volleyball player.

Micah Ma'a`s Girlfriend

Micah Ma’a’s girlfriend Zara Muno lives in Los Angeles, California, where she plays professional volleyball. She went to Notre Dame High School and debuted at the Youth Olympic Games in 2014, finishing in fifth place. She also placed fifth at the FIVB U19 World Championships in Porto, Portugal.

In her 2016 freshman season, Zana partnered with Reily Buechler, achieving a 12-2 record, and later teamed up with Jessyka Ngauamo, finishing with a 9-0 record. She competed in the FIVB U21 with Abril Bustamante. Zana won back-to-back NCAA beach national titles while playing indoor and beach volleyball at UCLA. She suffered an injury in 2017 but returned a year later with Savvy Simo as her partner.

In 2019, Zana went professional and made her AVP debut in her hometown, winning a bronze medal with Crissy Jones. In 2021, she won her first senior FIVB title in Leuven with Crissy Jones. She majored in sociology at UCLA with a focus on sports sociology and has developed interests in fashion and swimming. Zana has played in 27 AVP events, winning six bronze medals, and competed in 14 FIVB events, winning both gold and bronze once.

Zana Muno Early life

Zana Muno was born on May 13, 1996, and went to Notre Dame High School in August 2011. She hails from Hermosa Beach, California, but currently resides in Los Angeles, California. She grew up playing various sports during her high school days. Zana spent four years playing volleyball and two years on track and in football.

In 2013, Zana won the Los Angeles Daily News Player of the Year award and was also a two-time All-Area. The following year, she won the Club 18's All So-Cal Player and Opposite of the Year award and was awarded a TAVA Club Volleyball All-American Honorable Mention.

Zana Muno was the first athlete to win the "triple crown" of junior beach volleyball at the age of 16 years old. This was the result of winning three major AAU national tours with different partners.

After 2020, Zana applied to a program to learn farming and agriculture. She had to live in a village called Sicily in Italy with close to 2000 people who barely spoke English for seven weeks.

They called her Susie while she worked on a farm, trying to experience life outside of volleyball.

Zana Muno’s Parents

Zana Muno was born into a rich sports heritage by parents Kimberly and Lawrence Muno. Her father is a D1 football player, her mother is a professional golfer, and her brother, JJ, currently plays for the UC Santa Barbara baseball team. Her parents are also into chicken ranching. Her sporting life extends to her cousin, Danny, who works for the New York Mets organization.
