#5 Vince McMahon's reaction to Matt Riddle's comments about Brock Lesnar and Goldberg

Matt Riddle's comments about Goldberg and Brock Lesnar and his backstage altercations with the two WWE veterans have widely been speculated upon in the recent past.

The King of Bros never shies away from calling out Brock Lesnar and Goldberg on social media and during interviews. It was reported back in February by Dave Meltzer that Vince McMahon didn't like Matt Riddle for his public statements against Goldberg and Brock Lesnar. The WWE boss felt that Riddle had no respect for the hierarchy of the business by challenging Lesnar and Goldberg.

Lesnar and Goldberg were also reportedly not happy with Matt Riddle's 'unprofessional' tactics of trying to secure future matches.

In a recent interview with Hindustan Times, Matt Riddle confirmed that Vince McMahon might have felt that his comments about Brock Lesnar and Goldberg were disrespectful, while also confirming that Brock Lesnar and Goldberg were not happy.

"I think they take my demeanour and my mindset or how I look at things as disrespect. I think even Vince might have taken it as me being disrespectful. When I talked to Goldberg, I told him I wasn't being disrespectful, I was just telling the truth and me being honest."

The newest addition to WWE SmackDown also added that Brock Lesnar misunderstood what he was saying and that the Beast Incarnate took his comments' a little sideways'.

"Brock Lesnar misunderstood what I was saying. I said I want to retire you, It's been my goal since I started wrestling. It is because in my head it was that I would become a legend in the process. It just happens that I am still going and the match might actually happen. That's it, bro. And Brock took that a little sideways. There's nothing personal, it's just business."

Goldberg's ego was hurt, according to Riddle, who went on to reveal that he explained his actions to the former WWE Champion during an honest backstage conversation.

"End of the day, somebody like Goldberg, I hurt his ego a little bit. With Brock, like somebody wants to retire, it hurt his ego a little bit. I get it but I don't get it because if somebody did that to me I would be flattered as someone's talking about me. Somebody is basing their entire career on retiring me because I am that good. But they don't understand it that way, they don't see it that way and they take it as disrespect. And that's how they take it, it's fine. All I can do is change their mind. I can do that with money or become more popular, so that's what I will do."

#4 Nia Jax confirms that it was Ronda Rousey who hurt Alexa Bliss during matches

Nia Jax was part of a live stream on Paige's Twitch channel back in April along with many other female WWE Superstars. During the conversation, Nia Jax admitted that she had complained to the WWE management about a Superstar who was legitimately hurting Alexa Bliss during matches. Speculation rose quickly and Ronda Rousey's name was brought up.

During a recent interview with Sportskeeda's and TalkSPORT's Alex McCarthy, Nia Jax finally confirmed that the person she was referring to in April was indeed Ronda Rousey.

As Nia Jax is one of Alexa Bliss' closest friends, she felt the need to stand up for her. Jax noted that Bliss was never going to do it for herself.

The former RAW Women's Champion clarified that she always enjoyed working with Ronda Rousey; however, the former UFC star didn't have enough training before she was pushed into the deep end of professional wrestling. Her MMA background and the fact that she was bigger in size in when compared to Bliss, may have also contributed to Rowdy being unsafe during her matches against Alexa.

"Yes, it was Ronda. I do not think she took liberties, I think things happen. And Alexa is very strong, she's so strong willed and she doesn't want to give up. She never wants to be told she can't do something. So, for me personally, being such a close friend and seeing that she was trying to fight through this, I felt the need to stand up for her because she wasn't going to do it for herself. In her mind, she thought she was doing something right, but I knew it wasn't going to help her in the long run. We do have a really strong bond and on the flipside, working with Ronda, I always enjoyed working with her."

#3 The Jeff Hardy-Sheamus segment from SmackDown

The most recent episode of WWE SmackDown saw Jeff Hardy throw urine on Sheamus' face. Sportskeeda's Gary Cassidy revealed an exclusive report about all that would happen in the segment a few days before SmackDown was aired, and yes, all of what Cassidy said happened as expected.

The contract signing segment saw Jeff Hardy and Renee Young in the ring before Sheamus came along with a doctor and four security guards.

Sheamus claimed that he would not sign the contract until Hardy underwent a urine test to prove his sobriety. The Charismatic Enigma did fill the cup handed to him by the doctor, and he ended up rinsing The Celtic Warrior's face with his urine.

The segment ended with the PC recruits in the audience chanting 'You got pi***** on" at Sheamus. In case you're wondering who the doctor was from the segment, he was an actor whose real identity has been revealed here.

WWE rehashes an old segment

The controversial segment was rehashed from a similar angle that was booked between Shawn Michaels and Shane McMahon from 2006.

It's safe to say that the reactions of the fans to the 2020 version haven't been all that positive. The fact that the spoiler got out early, courtesy of Gary Cassidy, mentally prepared the fans for the segment.

#2 The 'Greatest Wrestling Match Ever' idea came from Vince McMahon and not Paul Heyman

The 'Greatest Wrestling Match Ever' tagline for the WWE Backlash contest between Edge and Randy Orton has received a lot of flak as a majority of the fanbase is sure that the match will not live up to its lofty hype.

This comes at a time when Paul Heyman has been removed from his role as the Executive Director of RAW. However, Tom Colohue revealed that Paul Heyman was actually not heavily involved with the Backlash storyline featuring Randy Orton and Edge.

Tom noted:

"One thing that made it clear that the writing was on the wall was that Paul Heyman was pretty much not involved in the Edge and Orton storyline at all. It has been heavily scripted outside of him. The branding is something that he wasn't apparently happy with and all in all, Edge and Orton have been working with Vince McMahon directly and the production team rather than Paul Heyman."

Greatest Wrestling Match Ever at WWE Backlash

Edge and Randy Orton have alluded to the fact in recent interviews that the idea to have the tagline for the match came from Vince McMahon.

Edge told ESPN:

"Vince [McMahon] is a promoter, and he's promoting, but it's like hyperbole. I mean, to me [the greatest match is] not possible. So that takes that pressure out of my mind immediately."

While Paul Heyman was also with Vince McMahon when the idea was pitched to Edge, the plan to push the match as the greatest wrestling match ever was clearly a Vince McMahon call.

Randy Orton revealed during a conference call that Vince did it to see what he and Edge were capable of.

"We've been painted in a corner, and I think Vince did that so he could see what we are capable of. Between the both of us, we probably have 50 years of experience, so even though he hasn't been in the ring and had those injuries, I've had injuries, too, and I feel were two of the best of this generation." #1 AJ Styles' move to SmackDown

A lot has been said about AJ Styles' move to SmackDown and as days go by, more details - some of which are really surprising - are coming through from behind the scenes in the WWE.

Tom Colohue was the first to report back in January that he'd heard backstage talks of AJ Styles possibly being sent back to SmackDown as Paul Heyman reportedly didn't have much planned for him back then. It was also noted that AJ Styles would feel more comfortable on SmackDown.

AJ Styles switches brands in WWE

Fast forward to now, and AJ Styles is your new Intercontinental Champion on SmackDown, and he seems set to be prominently featured once again on the Blue brand.

AJ Styles struggled to cement himself at the top of the card on RAW, and that was primarily because Paul Heyman pushed other young WWE Superstars.

Now that Styles is back on SmackDown, his focus would ideally be to make the IC title relevant again, and that comes down to how Bruce Prichard - who is now the Executive Director of RAW and SmackDown - books The Phenomenal One's first reign with the title.
