It has been a long while since the advent of the internet, and web-enabled smartphones have become a necessity for most humans. It was only a matter of time before WWE Superstars took advantage of the internet and use it to advance their careers.

Quite possibly the most over woman in WWE at the moment, Becky Lynch, has used Twitter effectively to promote her feuds and take shots at her opponents. Her jibes and insults towards Ronda Rousey and Charlotte Flair on the road to WrestleMania 35 helped her a great deal, to the extent that she was named the 2nd most mentioned female athlete on Twitter, right behind Tennis star, Serena Williams.

There there are some Superstars who use social media for completely different reasons. With a huge roster, there's no way WWE could ever manage to satisfy every single Superstar.

For every Reigns and Rollins, there will be a Rusev who wouldn't get pushed no matter how hard they tried. Let's take a look at 5 WWE Superstars who took to social media and hurled shots at their WWE booking.

#5 Luke Harper

Although we mostly see WWE Superstars take to Twitter or Instagram to express their opinions, this wasn't the case with former Wyatt Family member Luke Harper.

After WrestleMania 35 was done and dusted with, Luke Harper requested his WWE release, and was expecting to be granted the same. Unfortunately, Vince McMahon had other plans. Harper was not granted his release. Moreover, WWE extended his contract until early 2020.

Harper later appeared on Xavier Woods' Youtube show, UpUpDownDown, and took a shot at how he was not being booked despite WWE extending his contract. While leaving the gaming area, Harper asked whether he would get booked on this show.

#4 Naomi

Mere days before WrestleMania 35, Asuka lost her SmackDown Women's Title to Charlotte Flair on an episode of SmackDown Live, in a match that was added at the last minute. This match was a replacement to the #1 contender's Fatal Four Way match featuring Naomi, Carmella, Mandy Rose, and Sonya Deville. Soon after, the four women and Asuka were added to the Women's battle royal at the Show of Shows.

Naomi wasn't pleased with what had happened, and proceeded to take a shot at her booking on the biggest show of the year. The disgruntled Superstar retweeted WWE's announcement for the Women's battle royal, and asked whether this match was also going to get canceled.

This led to a string of WWE fans bashing Naomi for not being thankful and always complaining. Superstars like Titus O'Neil chimed in on the discussion and staunchly supported Naomi.

#3 Rusev

The Bulgarian Brute was once possibly the most over Superstar on the blue brand. His "Rusev Day" gimmick had taken off and he was being heavily cheered on a weekly basis. Fans expected WWE to push Rusev and give him an opportunity to prove himself on the main event scene. He lost a Fatal Four Way match at WrestleMania 34, and his star soon fizzled out.

Ever since then, Rusev has taken multiple shots at WWE on social media. Recently, he stated that Rusev Day is dead. Later, he was seen debating with Charlotte Flair on what he needs to do to get over like her.

He recently posted a photo on his official Instagram handle. The picture features him in his home country of Bulgaria. The caption to the photo stated that he is enjoying his "retirement" in Bulgaria. This was a subtle shot at WWE for not booking him on the main roster for a good while.

#2 Dana Brooke

Ever since she made her way to the main roster, Dana Brooke hasn't been able to break out the lower mid-card. She was once a part of the Titus Worldwide gimmick, but the angle didn't go anywhere. On the road to WrestleMania 35, Brooke was fed to Ronda Rousey on an episode of Raw, and is still trying to get over with the backstage higher-ups in WWE.

Weeks before WrestleMania, she posted a message on her official Instagram handle, and seemed genuinely upset on WWE overlooking her talent on multiple occasions.

Mood: WTH your just gunna overlook me like that and AGAIN leave me out! You dont know pure talent when you see it! Can’t break the unbreakable!

According to backstage reports, Dana Brooke is the hardest working talent on the WWE roster. Hopefully, she gets a chance to shine in the near future.

#1 The Revival

After The Revival lost their tag team titles at WrestleMania 35, Vince McMahon offered them a 5-year contract that paid each Superstar $500,000! Reportedly, The Revival rejected the offer. This seemed to have angered Vince to no end, and he immediately put the two Superstars in a weird angle with The Usos. The storyline saw The Usos filming Dash Wilder shaving Scott Dawson's back in a washroom. The embarrassing segments continued for weeks on end.

Both Superstars took shots at WWE for their booking. Ever since the first segment aired on TV, The Revival has been taking jibes at their booking on their Instagram handles. Recently, Wilder and Dawson were seen posing in front of the Eiffel Tower, which seemed like another subtle shot at how WWE was treating them. One can only hope that these two incredibly talented athletes get to actually wrestle good matches instead of being forced to be a part of worthless segments.
