Another WWE Superstar hints at leaving WWE

This is not good news for WWE...
This is not good news for WWE...

2019 has not turned out to be a fruitful year for WWE, as multiple Superstars have left the company to join rival promotions and others have reportedly asked for their releases to no avail. Superstars like Dean Ambrose, Tye Dillinger, and Hideo Itami, among others, left the juggernaut of professional wrestling this year to join other promotions. A few months back, it was reported that multiple WWE Superstars have asked for their release, which includes The Revival, Luke Harper, and Sasha Banks, just to name a few.

With the arrival of All Elite Wrestling (AEW), it doesn't look like WWE will be releasing them anytime soon. According to recent reports, WWE 205 Live Superstar Mike Kanellis took to Twitter where he possibly confirmed that he will leave WWE once his contract is up, and he could possibly leave with his wife Maria Kanellis.

A new stipulation has been added to the Universal Championship Match at Stomping Grounds

Seth Rollins will collide with Baron Corbin once again in two weeks at the Stomping Grounds pay-per-view
Seth Rollins will collide with Baron Corbin once again in two weeks at the Stomping Grounds pay-per-view

Seth Rollins defended his Universal Championship against the most despised man in WWE, Baron Corbin last week at WWE Super ShowDown. Seth escaped with the big red belt but had to fend off Brock Lesnar, who was about to attack him with a steel chair and cash in his Money in the Bank contract for the Universal Championship.

The WWE Universe isn't really invested in this feud and not many are looking forward to their match at Stomping Grounds because we have seen these two battle it out for free on Raw in the past and they just had a match last week, and it wasn't even close to a 'Match of the Month' candidate.

Their match at Stomping Grounds, however, won't be a normal match because according to reports, a new stipulation has been added to the match. Since Baron Corbin was "robbed of the Universal title" because of WWE referee John Cone, he will choose a special guest referee for their match at Stomping Grounds. I guess that makes things better, doesn't it?

WWE Raw and SmackDown Live's viewership decreased following Super ShowDown

This week's episode of Raw after Super ShowDown saw another drop in ratings, as the NBA Finals took place the very same night. According to reports, this week's edition of WWE Raw averaged 2.12 million viewers and generated the lowest viewership since the Christmas and New Year's Eve episodes. This is down 12% from last week's episode on 3 June, which averaged 2.40 million viewers.

SmackDown Live didn't do any better. This week's episode reportedly followed up Raw's decline in viewership with a decrease of its own as the blue brand dropped below the 2 million mark once again.

The 11th June episode of the blue brand averaged 1.90 million viewers; down 113,000 from last week's episode on the fourth of June. This is not good news for WWE as the show is set to move to FOX later this year.

Batista tried to talk The Undertaker out of facing Goldberg at WWE Super ShowDown

According to recent reports, former Evolution member Batista phoned The Undertaker to jokingly talk him out of his match against Goldberg at WWE Super ShowDown. The former WWE World Heavyweight Champion mentioned that he only saw clips and did not want to comment on the match itself, but he also admitted that he spoke to The Undertaker himself on the day of the show. Here is what he said:

“I called ‘Taker Friday. I called him Friday and I said, ‘Hey man, is there any way I can talk you out of this?’ and he just started laughing. He goes, ‘You know, when they talked to me about it a while back it sounded good, but I’m obligated, so we’re doing it.’”

The Phenom went on to defeat Goldberg in the main event of Super ShowDown.

Latest update on Sheamus after WWE retirement reports

Could The Celtic Warrior return to WWE soon?
Could The Celtic Warrior return to WWE soon?

Several reports have stated that former WWE Champion Sheamus could be forced to retire from in-ring competition, but according to a recent report, The Animal Batista mentioned during an interview that the Irishman is ready to make his return. Sheamus formed a tag team with Cesaro as The Bar and the duo won the Raw and SmackDown Tag Team Championships several times each.

Due to spinal stenosis and a recent concussion, The Irish Warrior has been off WWE TV for a while now and Batista, after recently visiting the latter, revealed that Sheamus still has the desire to return to the ring and he is just waiting for creatives to find him something to do.

The Animal Batista stated:

“He’s ready to go, he wants it, he’s so hungry, he’s in great shape. They’re just not sure what they want to do with him creatively, so it’s a very frustrating place to be.”

Dean Ambrose left WWE after his contract expired at the end of April and debuted at AEW Double or Nothing as Jon Moxley. He also made his debut on NJPW where he is the current IWGP United States Champion.

According to reports, Moxley revealed whether he would still be welcomed to WWE after all the nasty comments he made about the company after leaving.

Here is what Jon Moxley had to say:

“A bridge is never burnt in WWE. Vince would have me back tomorrow and would love it if I came crawling back to him.”
