Trevon Diggs throws shade at Bills, claims Stefon Diggs ‘isn’t being utilized’ by franchise

Is Stefon Diggs really being undervalued by the Buffalo Bills? The three-time Pro Bowl wide receiver had just four catches for 26 yards in Sunday's win against the New England Patriots.

That led some to wonder whether he would be leaving the team soon, even after they kept themselves in the hunt for a fourth straight AFC East title.

His younger brother Trevon, the currently injured star cornerback for the Dallas Cowboys, chimed in as well. Trevon claimed that quarterback Josh Allen and coach Sean McDermott were not using Stefon Diggs as much as expected, tweeting:

"Stef has a unique skill set that isn't being utilized. Should get 10-plus targets every game. Idc bout nun else. Who wan argue today"

Sportswriter thinks Stefon Diggs' late-season regression is now a problem for the Bills

Wherever Stefon Diggs goes, the Bills apparently do as well, with his seventh straight subpar performance being an indictment of how they have fared in 2023 - middling. Sometimes they play like Super Bowl contenders; other times, not so much.

Echoing those statements is Sal Maiorana, a sportswriter for the Rocherster-based newspaper Democrat & Chronicle. He said that the three-time Pro Bowler's dip in production (just 30 catches for 262 yards after Week 10 vs. 70 for 834 before) is a cause for investigation:

"Anyone who has been asked says Diggs is not hurt, so the conclusion is that he and Allen are suddenly reading from a different book and/or Diggs is simply not winning his matchups and is not getting open."

Sean McDermott was also asked if Stefon Diggs' slump is worthy of investigation. He responded:

"He’s our No. 1 receiver. Whether teams are trying to take him away or they’re getting the ball spread around and things we can do better offensively."

Maiorana also mentioned eight-time Pro Bowl linebacker Von Miller as another star who has underwhelmed. Signed to a massive six-year, $120-million deal in 2022, he has been mostly invisible since returning from an ACL injury in October - a paltry three total tackles.

He was healthy and available for the game against the Patriots, but eventually McDermott opted to bench him, saying it was "tough". But, according to the writer, he's an unnecessary "ghost" in the defense:

"The Bills, in games as crucial as these, can’t afford to waste a game-day roster spot on someone who’s not helping the cause. ... The defense was fine without him and players like A.J. Epenesa, Shaq Lawson and Kingsley Jonathan took his snaps in addition to their own."
