Jose Alexander Cora is a professional baseball manager who plays for the Boston Red Sox organization in Major League Baseball (MLB). He hails from Caguas, Puerto Rico, and attended the University of Miami (FL). In the 1996 MLB Draft, Cora was picked by the Los Angeles Dodgers in the third round and became the 88th overall pick. In 2006 and 2009, Cora played for Puerto Rico in the World Baseball Classic, hitting .133 and .125, respectively. Following his playing career, he moved into management positions, and in March 2016, he was appointed general manager of the Puerto Rican national team. In the 2017 World Baseball Classic, Puerto Rico won a silver medal under his leadership. Cora managed the team for two of the five seasons he was general manager of the Criollos de Caguas in the Puerto Rican Winter League.

He began his career as a player for teams like the Los Angeles Dodgers, the Boston Red Sox, the Cleveland Indians, the Texas Rangers, the New York Mets, and the Washington Nationals. Cora then transitioned into a bench coach for the Houston Astros in 2017 before starting his first tenure as the manager of the Boston Red Sox from 2018-19. He left Boston in 2019 however, Cora joined again in 2021. Cora has won three World Series titles in three different roles - in 2007 as a player, in 2017 as as a bench coach, and in 2018 as a manager.
