Brandon Nimmo is an American professional baseball outfielder for the New York Mets of Major League Baseball (MLB). He was born March 27, 1993, in Cheyenne, Wyoming, U.S., to parents Ron and Patti Nimmo. He has two siblings, a brother, Bryce, and a sister, Kristen.

He attended Cheyenne East High School in his hometown. He played American Legion Baseball and batted .448 with 15 home runs and 34 stolen bases in 70 games for his club during the 2010 season. He was ranked among the Top 50 prospects for the 2011 draft at number 35 by Baseball America. The New York Mets subsequently selected Nimmo with the 13th overall pick in the 2011 MLB draft. He signed with them as an 18-year-old on a whopping $2.1 million contract.

Nimmo made his major league debut on June 26, 2016, against the Atlanta Braves. He went 0-for-4 that day. He recorded his first and his first run in his second game against the Washington Nationals.

After a couple of seasons in the hinges, Nimmo became a regular in 2019. He batter .221/.375/.407 with 8 home runs and 29 RBIs in 69 games that season. He hit .280/.404/.484 with 8 home runs and 18 RBIs in 55 games the following year in a pandemic-shortened season. In 2021, he finished the season batting .292/.401/.437 with 8 home runs and 28 RBIs in 92 games, and in 2022, he finished with .274/.367/.433 with 16 home runs and 64 RBIs in 151 games. Nimmo signed a new 8-year deal with the Mets on December 10, 2022, worth $162 million.

“He was probably 18 months old, or maybe 2 years old, he already had a bat and a ball on a tee,” Ron Nimmo recalled. “His brother, being eight years older than him, Brandon looked up to him a lot and was kind of his role model and his idol. And I can remember he told one of Bryce’s coaches, ‘I’m gonna be better than my brother someday.’ It wasn’t in a conceited way at all. It was just that he always idolized his brother. … That was his barometer. It was like, ‘I need to be better than him,’ because that was the goal.”

Patti Nimmo is Brandon Nimmo's mother. Ron conceded that Patti played baseball with Brandon ever since he was two in the backyard during an interview with the New York Post in 2016 when Brandon made his MLB debut. There is no more information regarding Patti's background and personal life.
