He gained experience from his high school, college, and minor league baseball careers with the Minnesota Twins and New York Mets. Since then, he has used the experience to serve as a director of minor league operations for the Seattle Mariners. He later worked with them in many roles such as hitting, catching, and being the right-hand of the managers (bench coach) for the Kansas City Royals.
