Clayton Kershaw’s Charity Work
Clayton Kershaw founded Kershaw's Challenge in 2011 to help at-risk children and families around the world. Kershaw's Challenge was established after Ellen Kershaw was inspired by a young girl named Hope from Lusaka, Zambia. Nine-year-old Hope was an orphan living with HIV and in deep poverty. Ellen and Clayton committed to helping Hope's life improve by covering her basic needs and providing a safe, supportive home. That act of kindness resulted in the establishment of Kershaw's Challenge. The non-profit organization now works with vulnerable children in Los Angeles, Dallas, Zambia, and the Dominican Republic. The organization has raised more than $23 million since its inception, with 27 various beneficiaries aiming to change vulnerable communities. Kershaw's Challenge is involved with programs that offer housing, education, healthcare, and mentorship. Through purposeful projects and partnerships, the Kershaws aim to change lives one child at a time, challenging others to leverage their passions and platforms to serve the needy. Kershaw has also partnered with organisations such as Mercy Street, Arise Africa, Cure International, and the Dream Center. (via MLB's official website)
