Derek Sanderson Jeter is a former professional baseball player who played for the New York Yankees from 1995-2014. He hails from Pequannock, New Jersey, and attended Kalamazoo Central High School in Kalamazoo, Michigan. In the 1992 MLB Draft, Jeter was picked by the New York Yankees in the first round and became the sixth overall pick.

Derek Jeter played 20 years in the Major League for the New York Yankees. Jeter was named to the All-Star honors fourteen times and won five World Series championships in 1996, 1998, 1999, 2000, and 2009. He won the World Series MVP in 2000 and was named the American League Rookie of the Year in 1996. Defensively, Jeter collected five Gold Glove Awards and five Silver Slugger Awards. He was also a two-time AL Hank Aaron Award winner and earned the Roberto Clemente Award for his off-field work. His No. 2 jersey was retired by the Yankees and was honored in Monument Park. In 2020, he was elected to the National Baseball Hall of Fame with 99.7% of the vote on his initial ballot.
