Division Series - Detroit Tigers v Cleveland Guardians - Game 1
Detroit Tigers

The Detroit Tigers originally started out as one of the minor league teams of the Western League in 1894. However, after the league renamed itself the American League in 1900, the team established itself as a major team and joined the American League (AL) in 1901. Since then, the team has gone on to become World Series Champions four times and won the American League (AL) title eleven times. They have also won the AL East Division title three times, and the AL Central Division title six times.

Furthermore, their rivalry with the Chicago White Sox is considered one of the oldest active rivalries in the league today. This is due to them both being a part of the original Western League and later intensifying after both of them joined the American League in 1901. Remarkably, they have been competing against each other for over 120 years and have faced each other a record 2,247 times to date.
