The present manager for the Los Angeles Dodgers is David Ray Roberts, also known as “Doc.” Prior to his coaching and managing career. Dave Roberts was a MLB center fielder from 1999-2008 and served teams like Cleveland Indians, Los Angeles Dodgers, Boston Red Sox, San Diego Padres and San Francisco Giants. He also won the World Series Championship as a player in 2004 with the Boston Red Sox.


Post his playing career, Dave Roberts became the manager for the Los Angeles Dodgers in 2015 after a short stint working with the Boston Red Sox and the San Diego Padres. His managing efforts led him to be declared as the NL Manager of the Year in 2016. Moreover, he also helped the team become the World Series Champions in 2020. Dave Roberts is notable for being the only manager of color in an MLB after Ron Washington of the Los Angeles Angels.
