Michael John Graydon Soroka is a Canadian professional baseball pitcher for the Washington Nationals in the Major League Baseball (MLB). Better known as Michael Soroka or "Rock", he has participated for five years in the league for the Atlanta Braves and the Chicago White Sox from 2018 to 2024. However, he did not compete in the 2021 and 2022 MLB seasons due to his several injuries.
The Atlanta Braves drafted Soroka with the 28th overall pick in the 2015 MLB Draft. He made his first MLB appearance with his team on May 1, 2018. Since then, he has gone on to play his first MLB All-Star game in 2019 and has won his first NL All-Star award in the process. He also earned Baseball America Major League All-Rookie Team award in 2019.
