Nathan Edward Eovaldi is an American professional baseball pitcher. He is currently on the roster of the Texas Rangers of Major League Baseball (MLB).

Born on February 13, 1990, in Alvin, Texas, U.S., Nathan went to Alvin High School in Alvin, Texas, where he played baseball for his school team. In his junior year of high school, Nathan had the dreaded Tommy John surgery to repair the ulnar collateral ligament in his right elbow. Having bravely recovered from it and coming back into action quicker than expected, Nathan was an honorable mention on Texas' All-State team in his senior year. Nathan chose to go to Texas A&M University on a college baseball scholarship.

Signed by the Los Angeles Dodgers in the 2008 MLB Draft in the 11th round, Nathan made his debut on August 6, 2011. A 12-year veteran in the league, he has played for many teams, including the Los Angeles Dodgers, Miami Marlins, New York Yankees, Tampa Bay Rays, and Boston Red Sox, and he currently plays for the Texas Rangers.

His biggest coup in the sport was winning the World Series with the Red Sox in 2018. Nathan has also been selected for two All-Star games in 2021 and 2023 respectively.

For the second straight year, Boston started Eovaldi on Opening Day. However, he took the loss as the Red Sox lost 3-0 against the Orioles. He was selected to play in the MLB All-Star Game for the American League on July 4. With an 11–9 record, 3.75 ERA, and 195 strikeouts in 182+1⁄3 innings, he concluded the 2021 season. At 1.73 walks per nine innings, he allowed the fewest of any major league pitcher.

Eovaldi signed a million guaranteed two-year deal with the Texas Rangers on December 27, 2022, with a player option to vest in a third year. In the 2023 World Series, Eovaldi started Games 1 and 5, winning the pivotal game. For the first time in team history, the Rangers would go on to win both the World Series and Game Five. During the 2023 postseason, Eovaldi was the ace of the Rangers starting rotation, winning five of his six starts and going without a decision in the opening game of the World Series. The most victories by a pitcher in a single postseason were tied by this, setting an MLB record.
