Born on February 19, 2005, Jenkins attended South Brunswick High School in Southport, North Carolina, and picked up baseball there. He batted an impressive .527 with ten home runs, forty RBIs, 13 doubles, and 18 stolen bases as a junior in 2022. Named the Gatorade North Carolina Baseball Player of the Year for his sublime form, Jenkins was ranked number one among the top high schoolers in the 2023 MLB Draft this spring. Jenkins finished his senior year with a .480 batting average and 32 runs scored.
