California State University, Fresno (2019-2022)

Haley Cavinder started her collegiate basketball career by enrolling at California State University, Fresno and playing collegiate basketball for the Fresno State Bulldogs. After her freshman 2019/20 season, she was named as the Mountain State Freshman of the Year in 2020. Additionally, she was also added as a member of the Mountain West All-Freshman Team in 2020.


After Cavinder’s sophomore 2020/21 season, her impressive performance led her to be declared as the Mountain West Player of the Year in 2021. Her junior 2021/22 season saw her record three triple-doubles, the most by any player from her college. For this, she ranked second after Caitlin Clark of Iowa Hawkeyes.


Throughout three seasons and 89 games with the team, Cavinder averaged 18.4 points, 8.1 rebounds, 4.4 assists and 1.5 steals per game. She shot 41.8% from the field, including 34.6% from the three-point range.


University of Miami (2022-2023)

Haley Cavinder transferred to the University of Miami to play collegiate basketball for the Miami Hurricanes for the 2022/23 season. Her efforts led her team to the elite eight of the NCAA Tournament in 2023.


In her solo season with the team, she played 35 games and averaged 12.2 points, 4.9 rebounds and 2.5 assists per game. She shot 40.7% from the field, including 40.4% from deep.


Cavinder is not playing this season due to her retirement. Nevertheless, she has ended her retirement and will play her final 2024/25 collegiate season for the TCU Horned Frogs.
