Jahmal Banks is a college football player who has played with both the Wake Forest Demon Deacons and the Nebraska Cornhuskers. Before joining the University of Nebraska in 2024, he played for Wake Forest University from 2020 to 2023. In his first year at Wake Forest, Banks played in six games and made his first career catch against Campbell. Over the next two seasons, he continued to excel, recording six receptions for 98 yards.

During his time at Wake Forest, Banks excelled, posting more than 100 catches and 1,400 receiving yards in his college football career. On January 11, 2024, Banks made the decision to transfer to the University of Nebraska–Lincoln to play for the Nebraska Cornhuskers. As of 2024, he is in his Senior year and has one season of eligibility remaining at Nebraska.

Living with Jahmal's grandmother and moving frequently during their upbringing in the Washington, D.C. area, Kristie and her family faced various challenges. In an interview with Journal Now, Kristie spoke about Jahmal, emphasizing his unity with the family. "Jahmal was so strong, and he never let us be apart and we got through it," she said. "That’s what makes his story such a good one. It was God and family, and Jahmal never wavered."


Kristie described her parenting style quoting “I’m sort of on the 40-year plan when I look at all my children and what they can do in life. My oldest daughter played volleyball at Bowie State and got her undergrad degree, and now she has a master’s degree. And Jahmal was always studious, and he’s always been somebody who loves to give back.”
