Shane Beamer is a football head coach for the South Carolina Gamecocks, the football program of the University of South Carolina. Beamer was born on March 31, 1977, and is the son of the legendary former Virginia Tech football coach, Frank Beamer. Shane was appointed by the athletic director Ray Tanner in December 2020. Since then, and has revitalized the team and achieved victories. Shane played as a wide receiver and long snapper for the Virginia Tech Hokies, where he helped the team win the national championship game in 1999. Before becoming the head coach, Shane was an assistant coach at Georgia, Oklahoma, and Virginia Tech, where he coordinated tight ends, and recruited players. He is known for recruiting top talents and has been able to develop them to the NFL standards.

Shane Beamer's most successful season as a head coach of the South Carolina Gamecocks was in 2022, his second season at the helm of the program. He led the Gamecocks to an 8-5 record, including two monumental wins over top-10 teams, Tennessee and Clemson, which marked the first time in program history that South Carolina defeated consecutive top-10 opponents. The win over Clemson ended the Tigers' seven-game winning streak in the rivalry. Beamer's squad was showed potential especially its quarterback, Spencer Rattler, who had some outstanding plays late in the season. South Carolina qualified for the Gator Bowl, underlining the program's success during Beamer's stint.

As per USA Today, Shane Beamer's yearly salary is $6,375,000 plus a $1.7 million bonus and $26,996 in other pay, as of December 2024. For the first two seasons at Gamecocks, he earned about $2.75 million plus a $1.4 million bonus.
