Shane Beamer is a football head coach for the South Carolina Gamecocks, the football program of the University of South Carolina. Beamer was born on March 31, 1977, and is the son of the legendary former Virginia Tech football coach, Frank Beamer. Shane was appointed by the athletic director Ray Tanner in December 2020. Shane played as a wide receiver and long snapper for the Virginia Tech Hokies, where he helped the team win the national championship game in 1999.
