RP Singh was the best bowler for Deccan Chargers in the first season having picked up 17 wickets. He continued his good form in the second season as well.

He was the leading wicket-taker of the tournament, picking up 23 wickets from just 16 matches. The fast incoming delivery from the left arm swing bowler caused havoc to the batsmen during the entire tournament.

He was Gilchrist's go-to man in crunch situations and came up with the goods all the time.

RP Singh led the bowling attack of Deccan Chargers along with P Ojha. These two aggregated 41 wickets between them and helped the Deccan Chargers in clinching their first ever title.

RP Singh was awarded the Purple cap for leading the wicket-takers' chart.
