IPL 2016: Highest/Most Run-Scorers, Leading Wicket-Takers after RCB vs RPS & KXIP vs DD Match

Super Saturday – We had two matches on 7 May 2016. Royal Challengers Bangalore played Rising Pune Supergiants in the first game at M Chinnaswamy Stadium, Bangalore. While Kings XI Punjab played Delhi Daredevils in the second game.

RCB and PRS are both struggling in IPL 2016. Both the teams looked for a win, which you accelerate their push towards the top-half of the table. KXIP had a catastrophic season so far. On the other hand, DD is playing great and entered the game in number three.

Match one – Royal Challengers Bangalore vs Rising Pune Supergiants

Royal Challengers Bangalore won the toss and elected to bowl first.

Kohli said, "Wicket looks dry and should stay the same. Want to give the bowling unit comfort and give the batters something to chase. I've stopped eating more food and stayed hungry for runs, MSD has played a massive role in that, we have 3 changes."

Dhoni added, "It's difficult to say what a par score is, 200 can also be a par score at this ground. Partnerships will be key. In a situation like this, it's good to have guys who take the pressure away and Khawaja is a guy like that."

Royal Challengers Bangalore Playing XI:

Lokesh Rahul, Virat Kohli, AB de Villiers, Travis Head, Shane Watson, Sachin Baby, Stuart Binny, Parvez Rasool, Chris Jordan, Varun Aaron, Yuzvendra Chahal.

Rising Pune Supergiants Playing XI:

Ajinkya Rahane, Usman Khawaja, Saurabh Tiwary, MS Dhoni, Thisara Perera, George Bailey, Rajat Bhatia, Adam Zampa, Ravichandran Ashwin, Ashoke Dinda, RP Singh.

Chris Jordan made his debut for RCB. Adam Zampa made his debut for RPS.

Rising Pune Supergiants was off to a steady start. Even after that early wicket of Khawaja, RPS had lady luck in this match. RCB dropped Tiwary twice. Moreover, RCB’s fielding was just mediocre today. Rahane looked in good nick and scored another half-century. Tiwary scored a fifty as well.

Shane Watson was the star bowler for RCB. He took three wickets. Pune put 191 runs on the board.

RCB was off to a fine start. Later, Watson played an excellent cameo, which shifted the match in RCB’s favour. Then, it was Virat Kohli to finish the match. He scored a wonderful century. This one came in just 56 balls.

Match two – Kings XI Punjab vs Delhi Daredevils

Delhi Daredevils won the toss and elected to field first.

Zaheer Khan said, "Should get better as the game goes on, I feel it's better to bowl first. I'm back, Morris and Quinton de Kock are back too."

Murali Vijay said, "Looking forward to this game, hope to start well and take it from there. We too have a couple of changes."

Kings XI Punjab Playing XI:

Murali Vijay, Marcus Stoinis, Hashim Amla, Glenn Maxwell, David Miller, Wriddiman Saha, Axar Patel, Gurkeerat Singh, KC Cariappa, Mohit Sharma, Sandeep Sharma.

Delhi Daredevils Playing XI:

Quinton de Kock, Rishabh Pant, Sanju Samson, Karun Nair, Sam Billings, Carlos Brathwaite, Chris Morris, Amit Mishra, Mohammed Shami, Zaheer Khan, Shahbaz Nadeem.

Quinton de Kock, Chirs Morris, and Zaheer Khan are back in Delhi’s squad. Hashim Amla made his debut for Kings XI Punjab.

Kings XI Punjab started well in the first six overs. However, they lost two quick wickets right after that. Stoinis and Saha scored half-centuries each. Axar Patel and David Miller pushed in the end; KXIP put 181 runs on the board.

Delhi started in command. Sanju Samson and de Kock gave a good start. Quinton de Kock hit a fifty. Kings XI Punjab pulled it back in the later part of the game. Thanks to Marcus Stoinis and Mohit Sharma. Stoinis took three wickets.

Leading run-scorers:

Virat Kohli still leads the run-scorers chart. Rahane fired himself to number two with 417 runs.
