After a string of poor performances, Delhi Daredevils finally registered a fine victory over Sunrisers Hyderabad in a clinical chase.
It was a highly effective team performance for Delhi with all batsmen contributing while the bowlers also did a good job to restrict Hyderabad to a below par score. For SRH, there were some bright performances but overall it was an ordinary game for them.

Delhi Daredevils
Mohammed Shami - 8/10
He was expensive but he picked up the two big wickets of Hyderabad. Shami stunned Warner with a sensational yorker while Williamson was undone by a sharp bouncer. Except for his last over, which went for 12 runs, he bowled well. He had figures of 4-0-36-2 in the match and earned the Man of the Match award.

Amit Mishra - 8/10
He may have only one wicket to show, but he bowled exceptionally well and his economy of less than six on the Hyderabad pitch is a big achievement. He sent back the aggressive Dhawan and then choked Yuvraj and Williamson in the middle overs. His brilliant bowling stalled the momentum and prevented SRH from reaching 200 with bowling figures of 4-0-23-1.
Jayant Yadav - 7/10
Another bowler who bowled much better than what his stats indicate. Playing his second match of this season, Jayant Yadav faced Warner and Dhawan in the Powerplay overs and was successful in stopping them from hitting big shots. He came back in the middle overs to further cramp Hyderabad and finished with impressive bowling figures of 4-0-26-0.
Corey Anderson - 7/10
The New Zealand all-rounder was due a big score and he delivered for the Daredevils at the right moment. He came to bat when Delhi needed 77 runs from 50 balls and played well to guide the team to victory. He scored 41 runs from 24 balls and importantly stayed not out till the end.
Rishabh Pant - 6/10
After being promoted to No. 3 everyone expected something special from Pant and his start was in fact very assuring. After scoring 34 runs from 20 balls he threw his wicket and also the chance to become Delhi’s matchwinner.
Shreyas Iyer - 6//10
Demoted to No. 4, Iyer batted well to keep up the momentum earned by the top order. He succeeded in keeping the required run rate under check and also prevented SRH from picking any wicket. His 33 runs from 25 balls in the middle overs kept Delhi’s chase on track.
Karun Nair - 6/10
The man who was in a terrible form finally got some runs under his belt. And maybe this was the best occasion for Karun Nair to score these runs. His 39 runs from 20 balls set the tone for Delhi’s chase of 186 runs. His attack on Bhuveneshwar dented the confidence of Hyderabad but the Delhi skipper would have loved to get a big score.
Chris Morris - 5/10
His bowling wasn’t impressive, but Morris played his batting role to perfection. When he came to the crease, Delhi needed 38 runs from 24 balls, and although Anderson scored most of these runs, Morris struck one four and six to keep the required run rate under control. He had bowling figures of 4-0-36-0 and scored 15 runs from seven balls.
Sanju Samson - 4/10
After dropping a catch on the field, the pressure was already on Samson and his batting was anything but spectacular. His aggressive approach was commendable but he didn’t last long and scored 24 runs from 19 balls.
Kagiso Rabada - 1/10
A match the South African pacer would like to forget; his first over went for 11 runs and he tried to comeback in his second overs, however, he was torn apart by Yuvraj in the death overs. Rabada conceded 39 runs in his last two overs and ended with figures of 4-0-59-0.
Angelo Mathews - NA
The Sri Lankan all-rounder didn’t feature in the action in the first half of the match and didn’t get a chance to bat.
Sunrisers Hyderabad
Yuvraj Singh – 8/10
Another Yuvraj special delivered in his trademark style. He took time to get off but once set looked invincible. Runs came quickly at the end through stylish strokes and the southpaw completed his task, which was to propel the score in the final overs. He will be thankful to Samson for the dropped catch. He smashed 70 runs from 41 balls.
Rashid Khan – 6/10
The pitch certainly had something for the spinners and Rashid bowled well to extract help from the surface. But Delhi’s approach of playing him out meant Rashid was the most economical bowler from SRH but was also wicketless.
Shikhar Dhawan – 6/10
Shikhar Dhawan once again failed to convert a start into a big score but what was impressive today was his aggressive intent. His low strike rate has been an issue, but today the southpaw was eager to go over the field against pacers and stepped out against the spinner. Some ordinary bowling by Delhi helped his cause as he scored 28 runs from 17 balls.
David Warner – 5/10
On a pitch that suited his aggressive style of batting, David Warner will be cursing himself for throwing his wicket away after getting a start. SRH needed Warner to stay longer at the crease which the captain failed to do. He scored 30 runs from 21 balls.

Kane Williamson – 4/10
Williamson has been phenomenal in this IPL but he couldn’t continue his magic. He scored 24 runs but consumed an equal number of deliveries for that. His low strike rate cost Hyderabad vital runs during middle overs.
Bhuvneshwar Kumar – 4/10
Perhaps Bhuvneshwar’s first bad night in this year’s IPL. The purple cap holder was taken apart by Delhi openers in his first spell. He made a strong come back in the 16th over and gave only 6 runs and picked up a wicket too, but later was taken for 12 runs in his last over. His spell read 4-0-33-1.
Siddarth Kaul – 4/10
The young pacer got the wicket of Karun Nair but apart from that had a poor night. He conceded 38 runs from his 4 overs and didn’t look threating at all.
Mohammed Siraj – 4/10
This was the match when Siraj would learn that pace can be a disadvantage if you don’t have control over it. On a pitch that offered little assistance he gave away 41 runs in his four overs. The two wickets was a positive point for him.
Moses Henriques – 3/10
Henriques managed to score 25 runs from 18 balls, but SRH would have wanted him to hit more boundaries during his stay. If his batting was average, his bowling was poor. He conceded 36 runs in his spell of 2.1 overs and was the most expensive bowler from both teams in terms of economy.
Deepak Hooda – NA
The big-hitting batsman didn’t get any opportunity to bat.

The wicket-keeper batsman did not bat and had a quiet game behind the wickets.
