Nitish Rana has scored 25 sixes and 31 fours in the IPL

IPL is the platform for the domestic cricketers to get the spotlight of the fans and the selectors, which, later on, can lead to their rise in both the aspects - career growth as well as the paycheck.

Over the years, many uncapped batsmen in the past like Manish Pandey, Ambati Rayudu, Suryakumar Yadav, Rahul Tripathi, T Suman, Mandeep Singh, Manan Vohra have accompanied their franchises to dizzying heights.

They not only provide the much-needed balance to their teams but also take care of the pockets of the franchises, and most importantly justify the first word in Indian Premier League.

Let's take a look at those uncapped Indian players who can go on to win the orange cap in the upcoming season:

#4 Nitish Rana

Nitish Rana came into the limelight in IPL 2016 when he played a 70-run knock against the Gujarat Lions at the dusk of the season.

He continued his heroics in the next season where he took the first half of the edition by storm, scoring three fifties for Mumbai Indians, although he went off-color in the latter half & got dropped prior to the playoffs.

The Delhi-lad was signed by Kolkata Knight Riders for ₹ 3.4 crores, after letting go his idol and former KKR captain Gautam Gambhir. Mostly batting in the top-order, Rana can be the one to grab the orange cap, having seen glimpses of his efficacy already.

#3 Ishan Kishan

Kishan recently scored a 42-ball century in the Horn Not Ok Please Trophy

The young Indian sensation, who captained the Indian U-19 cricket team in 2016 World Cup, was grabbed by Mumbai Indians for whopping ₹ 6.2 crores after defeating Chennai Super Kings and Royals Challengers Bangalore in a bidding war.

Ishan Kishan was a part of Gujarat Lions for the last couple of seasons, playing only 16 matches over the two years. The 19-year-old didn't excel, batting in the middle-order for GL. But once got to open the innings, he looked promising & scored his maiden IPL fifty.

With MI expected to give him the top spot in their batting line-up, Ishan can be a serious contender to lay hands on the orange cap.

#2 Rahul Tripathi

His fluency in scoring boundaries gave him the success in 2017

The opening batsman, who hails from Ranchi, took everyone by surprise in the last season, accumulating 391 runs at a zippy rate of 146.44 for Rising Pune Supergiants.

Rahul Tripathi got the much-deserved spotlight by displaying his strength of snatching the momentum in the powerplay itself, thereby making it leisurely for the rest to come.

The 27-year-old was signed by Rajasthan Royals for ₹ 3.4 crores, who is set to play under his RPS captain Steve Smith along with his former teammates including Ben Stokes, Ajinkya Rahane, Jaydev Unadkat and Ankit Sharma.

#1 Mayank Agarwal

Can he turn around his mediocre IPL career in 2018?

One of the members of the Karnataka-wall that Kings XI Punjab has acquired, Mayank Agarwal was bagged-in for a bargain price of ₹ 1 crore. Finishing as the highest run-getter in both, the Ranji Trophy & the Vijay Hazare Trophy hands down, he seems to have reached his peak form.

The 27-year-old has been a part of three IPL teams before, namely, Royal Challengers Bangalore, Delhi Daredevils & Rising Pune Supergiants. If Agarwal successfully extends his purple patch in the IPL, he is going to be a serious contender for the orange cap.
