Players from all around the world light up the stage in the IPL with some sparkling performances. International as well as domestic players give their everything in order to help their teams win the coveted IPL trophy. Also because of the fact that stakes are extremely high in the IPL, players have to perform according to their reputation. In the process, the fans are treated to some terrific cricket.

Even though T20 is considered to be a batsman's game, there is no better sight than bowlers ruling the roost. Over the years, bowlers have come up with some superlative performances that have trumped the batsmen successfully. Here are the top 10 bowling figures in IPL history.

#10 Andrew Tye (Gujarat Lions) - 4-0-17-5

Andrew Tye is a T20 specialist bowler. The Australian has been fairly successful in the IPL as well. He has the ability to bowl the knuckle ball and slower balls which make him a difficult bowler to face, especially in death overs. While playing for the Gujarat Lions against Rising Pune Supergiant in 2017, Tye took 5 wickets in his quota of 4 overs. His 5 wickets included a hat-trick that he took in the last over of the innings. Moreover, while his fellow bowlers were giving away runs at more 9 runs per over, Tye gave away just 17 runs.

#9 Amit Mishra (Delhi Daredevils) - 4-0-17-5

Amit Mishra has been highly effective in the IPL. The leg-spinner has outfoxed opposition batsmen by his flight on many occasions. In a game against the Deccan Chargers in 2008, Mishra bowled an outstanding spell where he picked up 5 wickets while giving away just 17 runs. Mishra took the crucial wickets of Adam Gilchrist, Shahid Afridi and Herschelle Gibbs and quashed the Deccan Chargers' aspirations to win the match. Chasing a huge target of 195, the Chargers reached 182 and lost the match by 12 runs, thanks to Mishra's efforts.

#8 James Faulkner (Rajasthan Royals) - 4-1-16-5

James Faulkner

James Faulkner was going through a purple patch in IPL 2013. The Australian all-rounder picked up wickets regularly for his side, both with the new ball as well as with the old ball. At the fag end of the season, he delivered an exceptional performance against the Sunrisers Hyderabad. Faulkner took 5 wickets while giving away just 16 runs. Even though the Rajasthan Royals restricted the Sunrisers to a moderate total of 136, they lost the match by 23 runs and Faulkner's efforts went in vain.

#7 Ravindra Jadeja (Chennai Superkings) - 4-0-16-5

Ravindra Jadeja has been an integral part of Chennai Superkings since the time he joined the squad and he has time and again proved his effectiveness as a spinner. In a game against the Deccan Chargers in 2013, CSK finished with a huge total of 193 runs. Chasing a big target is never easy and Jadeja added to the Sunrisers' troubles as he bowled an outstanding spell, picking up 5 wickets for just 16 runs. CSK won the match comfortably by 74 runs.

#6 Ankit Rajpoot (Kings XI Punjab) - 4-0-14-5

Ankit Rajpoot is a promising fast bowler from Uttar Pradesh. He was picked up by Kings XI Punjab in IPL 2018. The right-arm seamer impressed everyone with his pace. Playing against the Sunrisers Hyderabad, Rajpoot bowled a brutal spell of fast bowling, picking up his maiden 5-wicket haul in the IPL. However, the Sunrisers are known for defending small totals and they lived up to their reputation as they defended 132 runs against a strong Kings XI batting line-up.

#5 Lasith Malinga (Mumbai Indians) - 3.4-1-13-5

Despite missing a couple of seasons due to injuries and other reasons, Lasith Malinga still remains the highest wicket-taker in the history of the IPL. And, the reason for Malinga's fabulous numbers is his ability to pick wickets at will. But to the surprise of many, Malinga has just one 5 wicket haul in the IPL, which came against the Delhi Daredevils in 2011. The Sri Lankan destroyed the Daredevils' batting line-up as he took 5 wickets and restricted the score below 100.

#4 Ishant Sharma (Deccan Chargers) - 3-0-12-5

Even though Ishant Sharma does not have a great IPL record, he has bowled one of the most lethal fast bowling spells in the history of the IPL. In 2011, the Deccan Chargers were pitted against Kochi Tuskers Kerala. Put in to bat first, the Chargers managed to score just 129 runs and were in deep trouble at the end of the innings. But Sharma made life difficult for the Kerala outfit and decimated their top order. Sharma ended with the figures of 5-12 in 3 overs. His opening bowling partner Dale Steyn wasn't much behind and took 3 wickets. The Kerala outfit were eventually dismissed for 74 runs.

#3 Anil Kumble (Royal Challengers Bangalore) - 3.1-1-5-5

Anil Kumble was renowned for his fighting spirit, and he gave a good account of his never-say-die attitude in the second match of IPL 2009. Kumble was up against the defending champions Rajasthan Royals and his side was defending a small total of 133 runs. Jumbo destroyed the Royals' batting line-up with his variations and returned with a figure of 5-5. RR were all out for a paltry score of 58 and Kumble was named the man-of-the-match.

#2 Adam Zampa (Rising Pune Supergiant) - 4-0-19-6

Adam Zampa was the only silver lining for Rising Pune Supergiant in an otherwise disappointing debut season in IPL 2016. The leg-spinner bowled with good control and executed tidy spells in the middle overs. The Australian picked up 6 wickets against Sunrisers Hyderabad in a group game played at Vizag. Zampa ran through the Sunrisers' middle order as the hosts were able to reach a below par score of 137 runs. But the Supergiants' batsmen crumbled under pressure as they lost the match narrowly by 4 runs.

#1 Sohail Tanvir (Rajasthan Royals) - 4-0-16-6

Sohail Tanvir was in dazzling form in the inaugural IPL season in 2008. His unorthodox bowling action caught a lot of attention and earned him a lot of wickets too. Tanvir's best bowling performance came against a strong Chennai Superkings outfit. The left-arm seamer annihilated CSK's experienced batting line-up and they were skittled out for just 109 runs. Tanvir took 6 wickets in the match while giving away just 16 runs. Unfortunately, due to the ever growing political tensions between the two nations, Pakistani players did not play in the IPL after that season.
