The Deccan Chargers picked two overseas all-rounders in their playing XI for their IPL 2011 season opener against the Rajasthan Royals. One of them was South Africa's JP Duminy, while the second all-rounder was Australia's Dan Christian.

Duminy scored 14 runs from 17 deliveries in DC's innings. After the Chargers' exit from the IPL, Duminy represented the Delhi Capitals, Sunrisers Hyderabad and the Mumbai Indians in the IPL. He has now retired from all formats of the game and was recently appointed batting coach of the Lions.

Christian scored 26 runs and returned with figures of 0/25 in the IPL 2011 game between the Deccan Chargers and the Rajasthan Royals. He is still active as a cricketer, and in IPL 2021, he is representing the Royal Challengers Bangalore. The Aussie all-rounder will be keen to help RCB win their maiden IPL title later this year.

The Deccan Chargers' bowling attack comprised two spinners and two fast bowlers. IPL 2010 Purple Cap winner Pragyan Ojha opened the bowling for the Chargers along with Dale Steyn.

None of the Deccan Chargers bowlers except Steyn could make an impact in the match. Steyn returned with figures of 2/18 in his four overs, while the other bowlers remained wicketless.

Dale Steyn retired from all forms of cricket this year and announced his decision via a social media post. Pragyan Ojha has also retired from the sport. He now works as a cricket expert, and earlier this year, Ojha won the Road Safety World Series with the India Legends team.

Amit Mishra is still active in the IPL. The right-arm leg-spinner is the most successful Indian bowler in the tournament's history. He is a part of the Delhi Capitals squad in IPL 2021. Mishra has an opportunity to overtake Lasith Malinga and become the all-time highest wicket-taker in the IPL.

Ishant Sharma is also a member of the Delhi Capitals squad in IPL 2021. Sharma has become a Test specialist for the Indian team. He has performed well in his last few IPL matches for the Delhi-based franchise.
