Is Cameron Green playing today's KKR vs RCB match in IPL 2024?

Cameron Green needs a massive turnaround in his IPL 2024 campaign

Royal Challengers Bengaluru (RCB) all-rounder Cameron Green's 2024 Indian Premier League (IPL) campaign has been a forgettable one so far. The Australian has bagged only two wickets, and with a high score of 33 at the halfway stage, he has not justified his price tag following the high-profile switch from the Mumbai Indians (MI).

Green found himself out of the playing XI as RCB tried to test their bench strength in a bid to end their losing streak. He did not play the away encounter against his old franchise, as well as the historic home contest against the SunRisers Hyderabad (SRH).

After a two-match stint on the bench, Cameron Green has been brought back into the playing XI by RCB skipper Faf du Plessis for their afternoon encounter against the Kolkata Knight Riders (KKR) at Eden Gardens on Sunday.

"It feels like how much the game of T20 is missing. The teams are batting so strongly that 60-70 is the norm in the powerplay. I think we have three changes. Cam Green and Siraj comes back. Karn Sharma is in. Once you get the flow back you get the confidence back," Faf du Plessis said at the toss after opting to bowl first.

RCB struggled for a potential sixth bowling option while conceding 287 against SRH in their previous contest. With KKR's in-form batting unit and the scorching temperatures. Green can be a handy option for RCB, particularly in the middle overs.

Cameron Green replaces Reece Topley as the fourth overseas player

RCB have once again shuffled their pack in a bid to return to winning ways. The three-time finalists are currently placed at the bottom of the points table and could be out of playoff contention soon if the trend continues.

Faf du Plessis, Will Jacks, and Lockie Ferguson retained their places as the overseas players from the previous contest. However, with Mohammed Siraj returning, RCB opted to drop one of the two overseas pacers they had in their playing XI.

Reece Topley, after conceding 68 runs in the clash against RCB, finds himself out of the playing XI to accommodate Cameron Green.
