Kolkata Knight Riders (KKR) will take on Royal Challengers Bengaluru (RCB) at Eden Gardens in Match number 36 of IPL 2024 on Sunday, April 21.

The afternoon contest kicks off at 3:30 PM (IST). Kolkata are currently placed third in the points table with four wins from six outings. Bengaluru, on the other hand, have just a solitary victory in seven games and are languishing at the bottom of the standings.

Kolkata suffered a two-wicket loss to Rajasthan Royals (RR) in their previous fixture, failing to defend a 224-run target. Bengaluru also faced defeat in their last match, finishing at 262/7 while chasing a record 288-run target against SunRisers Hyderabad (SRH).

RCB are on a five-match losing streak, which includes a seven-wicket loss to KKR earlier in the competition. The upcoming contest between the two star-studded teams promises to be an exciting affair.

Much to the delight of the fans, an uninterrupted clash is on the cards, with no signs of rain in Kolkata during the match time. The temperatures will hover between 33 and 41 degrees Celsius, with partly cloudy conditions after 7 PM (IST).

"For me, results matter, because people come to watch KKR win" - Gautam Gambhir ahead of Kolkata's IPL 2024 clash vs RCB

KKR mentor Gautam Gambhir recently spoke about how he doesn't believe in just focusing on the process but is more concerned about the result.

The former cricketer suggested that for him winning is paramount as people come to watch Kolkata do well.

Gambhir said on the Knights dugout podcast:

"I say it very openly that results do matter to me. I don't believe in this word called 'Process' & 'Do the process right, results will take care of their own'. For me, results matter, because people come to watch KKR win."

Kolkata comfortably chased down Bengaluru's target of 183 when the two sides locked horns for the first time in IPL 2024. Venkatesh Iyer and Sunil Narine were the top performers with the bat, scoring 50 and 47, respectively.
