Star Indian batter Shreyas Iyer gave his autograph on a fan's 'Sarpanch Saab' poster during the T20 Mumbai 2025 league. He is playing for the SoBo Mumbai Falcons in the league.

Shreyas Iyer was seen arriving in a jeep to the stadium when some fans went in front of the car holding a poster with 'Sarpanch Saab' written on it. While Shreyas did not get out of the vehicle, he was seen signing the poster, giving the fans his autograph.

The tag 'Sarpanch Saab', which essentially means leader, was given to the star batter during the IPL 2025 season where he was the captain of the Punjab Kings (PBKS).

The SoBo Mumbai Falcons are set to play the final of the T20 Mumbai League 2025 against Mumbai South Central Maratha Royals on Thursday, June 12, at the Wankhede Stadium. Shreyas is leading the team in this tournament.

Successive T20 finals for Shreyas Iyer as captain

As mentioned above, Shreyas Iyer's SoBo Mumbai Falcons are set to play the final of the T20 Mumbai League 2025. This is his second consecutive final in a T20 tournament being the captain.

Earlier in the recently concluded IPL 2025 season, Shreyas captained PBKS and took them to the final as well. Unfortunately, they lost the final to eventual champions Royal Challengers Bengaluru (RCB).

However, Shreyas impressed as captain and also led from the front with the bat throughout the season. PBKS topped the table with nine wins and 19 points after the group stage. They lost the first qualifier against RCB but beat Mumbai Indians (MI) in the second qualifier.

He scored 604 runs from 17 matches at an average of 50.33 and a strike-rate of 175.07 with six half-centuries. This was also his best-ever IPL season as a batter so far, going past 600 runs in a single edition for the first time.

Shreyas Iyer has been proving his prowess as a captain in white-ball cricket, having led two teams to the finals and also leading Kolkata Knight Riders (KKR) to the title in the 2024 season before being released by them.
