Royal Challengers Bengaluru (RCB) stalwart Virat Kohli was recently spotted exiting the Mumbai Airport after returning from Kolkata. He played the IPL 2024 match against the Kolkata Knight Riders (KKR) on Sunday afternoon at the Eden Gardens. RCB suffered a heartbreaking one-run loss in the high-scoring contest.

They will next face Sunrisers Hyderabad (SRH) on Thursday (April 25) in Hyderabad. With a couple of days of break for the next game, Virat Kohli utilized the opportunity and traveled home to Mumbai from Kolkata.

"He was out based on laws and existing technology" - Aakash Chopra on Virat Kohli's controversial dismissal in RCB vs KKR IPL 2024 match

Virat Kohli's dismissal against a high full toss against KKR pacer Harshit Rana on Sunday evoked mixed reactions from the cricket fraternity. After the batter took a DRS review, the third umpire deemed the delivery legal. However, a section of fans and cricket pundits felt that the umpire made the wrong decision, while some others backed the match official's call.

Former Indian cricketer Aakash Chopra recently gave his opinion on the matter while speaking in a video uploaded on his YouTube channel. He said:

"Was Virat Kohli out? The debate is whether it was right or wrong based on the existing laws. Kohli was out according to the current laws. It seemed not out with the naked eye but nothing happens with the naked eye. He was out based on laws and existing technology. Every player's height and the distance from the ground to their waist have been measured. So there is no ambiguity now."

He continued:

"With the naked eye, it seemed like it was not out but it was a slower one, Kohli was standing outside and the point of impact was even further away. The ball had to travel from there till the crease. Ball trajectory is quite accurate and it showed that it would have been below his waist height if he had been standing at the crease and that's where it stop."
