Rajasthan Royals beat the Punjab Kings by four wickets to end their IPL 2023 league stage on a winning note. RR needed a victory to keep themselves alive in the race to the playoffs at Dharamsala on Friday.

Royals captain Sanju Samson won the toss and opted to field first in Dharamsala. The decision worked in their favor initially as the Royals reduced the Punjab Kings to 114/5 in the 14th over. It seemed like RR would restrict PBKS to a total of around 160. However, Shahrukh Khan and Sam Curran helped PBKS post 187/5 in 20 overs.

Punjab Kings scored 187/5 in 20 overs. None of their batters could score a half-century, but Jitesh Sharma, Sam Curran and Shahrukh Khan scored valuable forties. Navdeep Saini bagged a three-wicket haul for the Rajasthan Royals.

  3. Jaiswal also became the fourth batter to score 600 runs in an IPL season before turning 25. Shaun Marsh, Rishabh Pant and Ruturaj Gaikwad were the first three batters to accomplish the feat.
