Players who have played more IPL matches than internationals

Of all the players on this list, no one had made his debut for India, earlier than Parthiv Patel, who made his Test debut in 2002. However, in the decade and a half since then he has only played 63 international matches across all three formats for India.

While he made his Test comeback last year and is likely to add to his numbers, he still has played just 23 Tests and just 63 international matches in total. In the IPL, however, he has played 103 matches for six different teams.

Across his 63 international games, he has scored 1,650 runs at an average of 27.96. In the IPL, his time with the Chennai Super Kings, Deccan Chargers, Kochi Tuskers Kerala, Royal Challengers Bangalore, Sunrisers Hyderabad and his current team, Mumbai Indians, has seen him score 1,927 runs at an average of 21.17.
