Shardul Thakur is one of India's best-ever bowling all-rounders. Shardul was born in Palghar, Maharashtra, on October 16, 1991. He bowls medium right-arm and bats right-handed. He plays for Chennai Super Kings (CSK) in the Indian Premier League (IPL) and plays domestically for Mumbai.
Shardul Thakur IPL teams from 2008-24
In 2014, Thakur signed his first IPL deal with the Punjab Kings, which at that point was known as Kings XI Punjab. However, the Indian seamer was only able to get one game in the following three seasons combined.
The team then asked him to return home, and before the 2017 season, he was traded to the Rising Pune Supergiant.
During his 12 games in 2017, Thakur took 11 wickets. Later, he was picked for INR 2.6 crores by the Chennai Super Kings during the 2018 mega auction.
Thakur was released by CSK ahead of the 2022 auction, where he was picked up by DC for a whopping INR 10.75 Crores. Thakur played for the Kolkata Knight Riders in IPL 2023 after being transferred by DC during the trading window. In 2024, he will again feature for the CSK after the franchise acquired him in the 2024 mini-auction.

Shardul Thakur IPL Auction Price
Shardul made his IPL 2015 debut for Punjab Kings who acquired him for 2 crores. He was traded for the same amount to the Rising Pune Supergiant (RPS) in 2017. In the 2018 IPL auction, CSK purchased him for INR 2.60 crore as a result of his outstanding performance. For INR 10.75 crore, the Delhi Capitals (DC) signed him in the 2022 Indian Premier League mega auction. The Kolkata Knight Riders (KKR) wagered the same amount on him in 2023 as they did in the 2022 auction. He was purchased by CSK for INR 4 crore in the 2024 auction.
