
The Serie A, officially known as the Serie A Enilive, is the top-tier professional football league in Italy. It was founded in 1898 and its format was changed to round robin in 1929. Since the 2004-05 season, a total of 20 clubs have participated in every new Serie A edition. As of May 2025, a total of 16 clubs have won the Serie A title, with Juventus being the most successful team in the history of the tournament with 36 titles.
As of May 2025, Inter Milan are the Serie A champions, having won the title in the 2023-24 season. They won the title after finishing the 2023-24 season with 94 points from 38 games as AC Milan finished second with 75 points. The team were coached by Simone Inzaghi and captained by Lautaro Martinez in the 2023-24 campaign.
