About UEFA CL 2024-25

The 2024-25 edition of the UEFA Champions League is the 70th edition of the tournament since its inception in 1955. The 2024-25 season is the first campaign using the new system, with 36 clubs competing in a league phase. Each team played eight different opponents in the league phase. Excluding the qualifying round, a total of 189 matches are being played this season.
The two finalists of the 2024-25 season, Paris Saint-Germain and Inter Milan, are set to take on each other at Allianz Arena, Munich, Germany on May 31, 2025. The winner of the final will directly qualify for the 2025-26 UEFA Champions League league phase. The winner will also automatically advance to the 2025 FIFA Intercontinental Cup final, the 2029 FIFA Club World Cup group stage, and the 2025 UEFA Super Cup, where they will face the 2024-25 UEFA Europa League winners.
As of May 2025, Real Madrid are the most successful club with 15 UEFA Champions League trophies. They also won the first edition in 1955-56 (the tournament was known as the European Cup) and the previous edition in 2023-24. UEFA Champions League Anthem
The UEFA Champions League Anthem, simply called "Champions League”, is the official song of the UEFA Champions League. It was written in 1992 by English composer Tony Britten and is inspired by George Frideric Handel's Zadok the Priest.
The entire anthem, which consists of a chorus and two brief verses, takes almost three minutes to finish. A total of three official languages: English, French, and German are used in the lyrics of the anthem. The famous chorus includes the words: “Die Meister. Die Besten. Les grandes équipes. The champions.”, which means: "The masters. The best. The great teams. The champions."
UEFA Champions League Prize Money
The total prize pool of the 2024-25 UEFA Champions League increased to £2.06 billion, up from £1.74 billion in the previous iteration. Even if a club lost every game and got eliminated in the league phase, they still received an automatic £15.7 million.
Each team received £1.7 million if they finished in the top eight of the league phase table, which guarantees automatic entry to the round of 16. For winning each round of the knockout phase, the teams will get:
Winners: £21.5 million
Runners-up: £15.9 million
Semi-finals: £12.9 million
Quarter-finals: £10.7 million
Round-of-16: £9.4 million
NOTE: For the first time this season, UEFA has also included a new "value pillar" of payments, which may total an extra £10.5 million.
