The two-time major champion and former world No. 1, Jon Rahm, or just "Rahmbo," was born on November 10, 1994. The golfer has won 19 amateur titles in six years, and turned professional in 2016, after which he has won 20 professional titles as of July 2024. Rahm won his first major championship in 2021 at the U.S. Open and his second in 2023 at the Masters Tournament. He had previously stated he did not have any interest in the three-round LIV format or the prize money.

However, in December 2023, after contending with Rory McIlroy and Scottie Scheffler for the top spot, he confirmed his move to LIV Golf. Even though he has fallen in the global rankings, he is still on track to compete for Spain's first golf medal at the 2024 Olympic Games in Paris.

What is Jon Rahm’s Nationality?

Jon Rahm’s nationality is Spanish; he was born in Barrica, a town in northern Spain's Basque region.

Watching Team Europe, led by the legendary Seve Ballesteros, to victory at the 1997 Ryder Cup in Valderrama, Jon Rahm's father, Edorta, was so impressed that he began playing golf, along with his wife, Angela, and enrolled their son, Jon, in golf lessons, according to the official Olympics website.

Aside from golf, though, Rahm attempted a variety of team sports, including basketball and football, but he ultimately gave up on them because he wanted to be the one to make the winning shot. He told the Golf News that "By the time I was 15, I’d pretty much dropped all my other sports and focused purely on golf."

Rahm went to the United States due to his father, who believed that his future lay there, so he enrolled at Arizona State University in 2012. Tim, Phil Mickelson's brother, recruited the Spaniard, who had to quickly get used to living in a foreign language. Rahm used to listen to rap songs by Eminem to learn English, while Tom, on the other hand, used to make him do 10 burpees if he spoke a lot of Spanish, according to the official Olympics website.

Rahm turned into an exceptional player while he was in Arizona. He not only became the first person to win the Ben Hogan Award twice, which is given to the top collegiate golfer, but his 11 tournament wins also moved him to the top of the World Amateur Golf Rankings (WAGR).
