Viktor Hovland, a professional golfer, is ranked No. 8 in the Official World Golf Rankings (OWGR) as of April 2025. He has had nine amateur titles, including the 2018 U.S. Amateur. He was also the amateur world No. 1 in 2019, after which he turned professional. Hovland has 11 professional wins, with the most recent one being the 2025 Valspar Championship, defeating Justin Thomas by one stroke. He also won the 2023 Tour Championship, beating Xander Schauffle by five strokes, and received the 2023 FedEx Cup.

Viktor Hovland's WITB

Viktor Hovland’s 2025 bag features a mix of Ping, TaylorMade, and Titleist equipment. He sticks with the Ping G425 LST driver but replaces his Stealth Plus 3-wood with a TaylorMade Sim Ti, switching from a Ventus Blue to a Ventus Black shaft. The Ping G430 Max 7-wood and G425 hybrid from 2024 are no longer in use. Hovland uses a Titleist U505 (3-iron) paired with Ping i210 irons (4–PW), but with slightly different shafts, a Graphite Design Tour AD DI for the U505 and KBS Tour-V 120 X instead of KBS Tour 120 X for the irons. His wedge setup has shifted from Glide 4.0 to Ping s159 (50 and 56 degrees) alongside the retained Glide 2.0 (60 degrees), with a change in shafts to Dynamic Gold Tour Issue S400. The Ping PLD DS 72 putter and Titleist Pro V1 ball remain consistent, while Golf Pride MCC grips are now specified in the latest setup (via the PGA Tour).

Viktor Hovland's Driver - Ping G425 LST

Hovland used a Fujikura Speeder TR 661 TX shaft with a slightly older Ping G425 LST driver, which he used to succeed. Although most Ping tour pros have switched to G430 drivers, Hovland has stuck with the G425 as of April 2025. Further, all of his clubs, except the putter, are shortened by a quarter of an inch, and the lofts are reinforced by 0.5 degrees. The ball travels lower because of the combination of the clubs' shortening and the lofts' shifting, increasing ball speed and decreasing spin.

Viktor Hovland's Fairway - TaylorMade Sim Ti

Hovland uses a three-wood TaylorMade Sim Ti fairway, set at 15 degrees, installed with a Fujikura Ventus Black 7 X shaft, as of April 2025. In his earlier setup, he had two fairways, a TaylorMade Stealth Plus (3-wood) and a Ping G430 (7-wood), set at 15 and 18 degrees, respectively. Both are fitted with a Fujikura Ventus Blue 7 X shaft. The Sim Ti is technically a fairway wood being used as a driver and is a slightly older model. Golfers who prefer control and distance do that, and Sim Ti is perfect for increasing overall performance and forgiveness.

Viktor Hovland's Irons - Titleist U505 & Ping i210

Hovland frequently travels with a set of Ping i210s and a Titleist U505 utility iron. They have KBS Tour-V 120 X shafts and range from four iron to pitching wedge. Though U505, a 3-iron is installed with a Graphite Design Tour AD DI Hybrid 85 X shaft. He does something pretty cool with his i210s to get them to fly a little lower while he plays in the wind. One of the greatest irons for low handicappers is the i210 because it offers a good combination of forgiveness and workability.

Viktor Hovland's Wedges - Ping s159 & Glide 2.0

Hovland uses three Ping wedges, a Glide 2.0 at 60 degrees and two S159s at 50 and 56 degrees, all installed with True Temper Dynamic Golf Tour Issue S400 shafts. As per Golf Monthly, the S159 produced a strong, steady ball flight when firing from a little farther out, and it produced outstanding results when chipping and pitching.

Viktor Hovland's Putter - Ping PLD DS 72 Prototype

The preferred flat stick for Hovland is the Ping PLD DS 72 Prototype, a fantastic face-balanced mallet with a great feel from the machined-forged steel head and good forgiveness.

Viktor Hovland's Golf Ball - Titleist Pro V1

Hovland plays with the most popular golf ball on the Tour, the Titleist Pro V1. It is also considered among the greatest premium golf balls ever produced.
