Xander Schauffele's WITB

The 2018 WGC-HSBC Champions winner, Xander Schauffele, was born on October 25, 1993. During his amateur career, he won five titles between 2011 and 2015, after which he turned professional, and since then, he has won seven professional titles.

Schauffele had his best major performance in a tie for second at the 2019 Masters and the 2018 Open Championship. In the 2020 Summer Olympics, Schauffele won the gold medal in the men's individual golf competition.

He won his first PGA Tour title at the 2017 Greenbrier Classic with a total score of 266, under 14, defeating Robert Streb by a single stroke. His victory granted him exemptions into the 2018 PGA Championship and the Masters Tournament.

He also won the 2017 Tour Championship, over Justin Thomas by a single stroke and with a score of 2658, under 12, becoming the first rookie to win a FedEx Cup playoff event and the Tour Championship.

His most recent win was at the 2022 Genesis Scottish Open; the event was co-sanctioned by the European Tour. He won by a single shot over Kurt Kitayama, with a score of 273, under 7.

As of April 2024, he has played in eight events, with six top-10 finishes already. His best finish was at the Players Championship, where he finished in second place with Brian Harman and Wyndham Clark, losing to Scottie Scheffler by a single stroke.

As of April 2024, Schauffele is using a Mitsubishi Diamana PD 70 TX shaft with a Callaway Paradym Ai Smoke Triple Diamond driver, with the loft set at 10.5 degrees.

This is among the greatest low spin drivers available on the market. It's arguable to what extent the Paradym Triple Diamond has evolved, but this is one excellent driver, as per Golf Monthly.

Xander Schauffele’s Fairway

Schauffele's go-to fairway wood is the low-spinning Callaway Paradym Ai Smoke Triple Diamond, which has a low launch and lots of distance. It has a Mitsubishi Kai'li White 90 TX shaft and 16.5 degrees of loft.

Xander Schauffele’s Hybrid

Schauffele has a second option at the top of the bag, which is the original Callaway Apex UW. The fact that he still uses the 2024 Apex UW instead of the tour-inspired utility wood makes sense, but it's still interesting that he favors this model.

It features the Mitsubishi Kai'li White 90 TX shaft with a loft angle of 23 degrees.

Schauffele uses the Callaway Apex TCB irons (4-PW), which come with True Temper Dynamic Gold Tour Issue X100 shafts. This club meets all the requirements for low handicappers and feels incredibly soft. Being considered one of the top ball strikers in the league, it's reasonable to assume that he doesn't make random modifications to his irons.

Schauffele, who has won 10 professional events, uses a 52-degree Callaway Jaws Raw wedge with a True Temper Dynamic Gold Tour Issue X100 shaft; these are amazing wedges with a lot of spin, as per Golf Monthly.

He also has two seemingly classic Titleist Vokey wedges: the SM6, 56, set at 57 degrees, and the WedgeWorks Proto, 60, set at 61 degrees. The shaft on these two Vokey wedges is a True Temper Dynamic Gold Tour Issue X100.

Xander Schauffele’s Putter

As of April 2024, Schauffele favors the Odyssey Toulon Design Las Vegas Prototype 7CH putter in red, which features a SuperStroke Zenergy Tour 2.0 grip.

During the past 12 to 18 months, he has switched flat sticks a few times. He briefly used a Stroke Lab 7 in addition to carrying the Odyssey Stroke Lab Tuttle in his bag.

Xander Schauffele’s Apparel & Footwear

Since the beginning of 2024, the Descente brand—a Japanese sportswear and accessory company that was originally focused on skiing—has been featured on Schauffele's polo shirts and outerwear.

He continues to work with Adidas, but now only wears the company's golf shoes. Although he has worn the adidas ZG21 golf shoes in the past, he often wears the Adidas Tour 360 22 golf shoes, though that may change by the conclusion of 2024.
