Despite being the latest game in the Grand Theft Auto franchise, there are several missing features in GTA 5 that were present in its predecessors, like pulling off combos in melee combat, having a believable police AI, and eating out at restaurants and fast food outlets. These were either present in Grand Theft Auto 4 or San Andreas, often lauded for their immersive features.

Most fans believe these features need to be brought back to GTA 6, as they expect the upcoming game to be a major improvement in every aspect. In that light, we've listed the missing features in GTA 5 that deserve to be brought back in Grand Theft Auto VI.

Missing features in GTA 5 that GTA 6 should have

1) Mix and match all items of clothing

One of the missing features in GTA 5 is related to clothing or character customization. There are restrictions to how many clothing combinations you can create, as certain items don't match. This limitation also extends to Grand Theft Auto Online, which has a much larger selection of clothing.

CJ could also mix and match all types of clothing, which was one of the best roleplaying elements in GTA San Andreas. The feature hasn't been reimplemented since then, so Grand Theft Auto 6 should bring it back.

2) Advanced melee combat

In Grand Theft Auto San Andreas, Rockstar added the ability to learn and pull off different martial arts combos. You can visit the game's various gyms and learn Boxing, Muay Thai, and Kung Fu. This was expanded in Grand Theft Auto 4, where you could pull off unique combos in melee combat.

Unfortunately, this is another addition to the missing features in GTA 5, where melee combat feels quite underwhelming. NPCs get knocked out much more easily, so you can only pull off simpler punches and kicks. By reintroducing this feature, GTA 6 could truly succeed GTA 4.

3) Advanced police

The police in GTA 5 have to be one of the most disappointing and the wanted system is undoubtedly one of the most rudimentary. It feels somehow downgraded even when compared to GTA San Andreas. Now, the most realistic police behavior is definitely found in Grand Theft Auto 4, which is why this can be considered one of the missing features in GTA 5.

The cops of HD Universe Liberty City didn't spawn out of nowhere and wouldn't telepathically learn about your criminal actions, unlike those in HD Universe Los Santos. They also wouldn't try to kill you for minor crimes and would try different maneuvers to pull you over if you were in a vehicle.

4) Eating at restaurants

Up until GTA 4, you could visit different restaurants and fast food outlets across the city to eat out, like Burger Shot, Cluckin' Bell. Unfortunately, this is also among of the missing features in GTA 5. These outlets still exist, but you can't even enter them. The game doesn't have many enterable interiors anyway.

We hope the next game brings back this feature, and the GTA 6 footage leaks showed a fully detailed enterable diner. However, this scene only shows the protagonists looting the establishment and the people there.

5) Picking up random items

Although Grand Theft Auto 4 has a much smaller weapons arsenal than San Andreas or Grand Theft Auto 5, a unique feature somewhat makes up for it. Random items could be picked up from the streets and used as a thrown weapon in the game. This is one of the missing features in GTA 5, possibly because having it in the game's large map would put too much pressure on consoles.

There were several items you could pick up and throw, including bricks, cans, other random pieces of debris, and even mobile phones dropped by NPCs.
