Dricus du Plessis is a South African mixed martial artist who is the current middleweight champion in the Ultimate Fighting Championship (UFC). He previously competed in the Extreme Fighting Championship (EFC), where he held the titles for both the middleweight and welterweight weight classes.
Since turning pro in 2013, he has also competed for the Polish promotion Konfrontacja Sztuk Walki (KSW). He is a former KSW Welterweight Champion in addition to being a two-time EFC Middleweight Champion and former EFC Welterweight Champion. He is ranked #2 in the UFC middleweight standings as of January 2024.
On December 10, 2022, Du Plessis took on Darren Till at UFC 282. He won the fight by submission in the third round. This fight earned him the Fight of the Night award.
