Islam Makhachev, born on October 27, 1991, in Makhachkala, USSR (now Russia), hails from the village of Brushi. He's a Dagestani mixed martial artist renowned for his Sambo expertise. Makhachev's journey began with a victory over Valentin Benishiv in the World Sambo Championship.


His professional MMA debut took place on August 1, 2010, against Magomed Bekbolatov at Tsumada Fighting Championship 4, resulting in a unanimous decision win. Makhachev went on a 12-fight winning streak before losing to Adriano Martins, his only loss to date.
