Janto is a fictional character in the popular manga and its anime adaptation, the Naruto series, written and illustrated by Masashi Kishimoto.

Janto is a character in the Naruto series that first appeared in Naruto Episode 86 titled, “A New Training Begins: I Will Be Strong!”. He belongs to Tanzaku Quarters in the Land of Fire and is introduced in the series as a gambler.

Very little is known about Janto’s childhood and past as his heritage is still shrouded in mystery. Due to his limited appearances in the series, close to nothing is known about his lineage or background other than the fact that he is a gambler from the Land of Fire.
Janto first appeared in the Search for Tsunade Arc and in this arc, when Tsunade Senju entered his gambling den, he was oblivious as to who she was. He then asked Sozu about her who then revealed that she is the one who is known as the Legendary Sucker.
Janto has not appeared since this incident; thus, his absence makes it impossible to say whether he is dead or alive. He is currently assumed to be alive and well unless any information indicates otherwise.
Due to his lack of appearance in the series and any related information, Janto never had the opportunity to express his individuality. However, it is stated that he is an experienced and seasoned gambler and enjoys games with good odds.
Janto is a fair-skinned man with an average build and dark eyes with short light brown hair. He was last seen dressed in a dark kimono with grey trimmings, paired with white pants. It also seems he has rather weak eyesight as he wears a pair of round glasses.
Janto is stated to be a gambler and there is no information of him ever being involved in any shinobi training whatsoever. Based on this information, it is believed that Janto does not possess any combat capabilities.
In addition to the manga and anime of the Naruto series, Janto also appears in the Naruto Mobile game. He appears in the game as a constant rival for the player in the Tanzaku location. He engages in a card battle by throwing cards at the opponent.
