Kaede in Naruto

Kaede’s background is shrouded in mystery as she had a very limited appearance in the series. Very little is known about her because she only made a few fleeting appearances in the anime or the movie and did not contribute much to the story. According to the information available, Kaede is a kunoichi of the Hidden Leaf Village. In the series, after the Fourth Great Ninja War, Kaede, like many others, idolized Naruto Uzumaki, the protagonist of the Naruto series, as he was the hero who ended the war and brought peace to the shinobi world.

In Naruto Shippuden episode 479, "Naruto Uzumaki!!," Kaede made her anime debut. In the episode, Kakashi Hatake was named the Sixth Hokage of Konoha shortly after Naruto and others returned to the Hidden Leaf Village following the conclusion of the Fourth Great Ninja War. Kaede and her companions were present at the gate of Konoha at the inauguration of the Sixth Hokage, yelling and pleading with the crowd to let them see Naruto.

Like many others at the opening of the film, Kaede handed Naruto a gift in the narrative. Later, as Naruto was celebrating with his friends, Kaede and her companion Akane (Kunoichi) paid him a visit at Ichiraku Ramen. The young kunoichi and her companions were told by Naruto to order whatever they liked and think of it as his treat after he thanked them for the gifts. They then invited Naruto to join them.

These are the only instances Kaede ever appeared in the Naruto series so far. Based on this minimal appearance, Kaede is believed to be alive and well until any additional piece of information comes to light suggesting otherwise.

Kaede is a young kunoichi from Konoha. According to the scant information available, Kaede idolizes and is passionately infatuated with Naruto Uzumaki. Kaede was frequently observed attempting to approach Naruto. But as can be seen from her behavior, Kaede only admires Naruto because he is the hero who put an end to the Fourth Great Ninja War and brought tranquility to the violent shinobi world. This makes her affections for Naruto seem a little meaningless.

She also appears to not put much effort into training despite being a fully-fledged kunoichi of Konoha and prefers to flirt with Naruto over training or missions.

Although Kaede is a full-fledged kunoichi and did indeed graduate from the Hidden Leaf Ninja Academy, as denoted by her Konoha headband, she did not use any of her abilities in her brief appearance. As she did graduate from the academy, she surely possesses the required skills for the life of a shinobi but her abilities are unknown.

Apart from the anime and the movie, Kaede also appears in the light novel based on the movie with the same title, “The Last: Naruto the Movie.”
