It isn't much of a surprise that the Philadelphia Eagles vs Los Angeles Rams game heading into Moday was all about the hype. It lived up to its billing as the Philadelphia Eagles beat the Los Angeles Rams 43-35. The Eagles won the NFC East title for the first time since the 2013 season.

Jake Elliott made the game-winning field goal from 33 yards out with under four minutes remaining. He also made a 41-yard field goal earlier in the quarter. What we also learned about this game was that if the Eagles are going to win the Super Bowl, they are going to have to do it without quarterback Carson Wentz.

The Eagles fear he has torn his anterior cruciate ligament (ACL) as he left the game late in the third quarter. Wentz completed 23-of-41 passes for 291 yards four touchdowns and an interception. He also rushed for 16 yards on three carries and Wentz is a magician at making plays, but Nick Foles will take over at quarterback as long as Wentz is out.

Nick Foles is no stranger to playing in the NFL. He was the starting quarterback for the Eagles when they won the division in 2013. Foles completed 6-of-10 passes for 42 yards in relief. He made a huge completion late in the game to Nelson Agholor to seal the deal. Agholor caught eight passes for 64 yards receiving. Torrey Smith caught six passes for 100 yards receiving.

Philadelphia was without tight end Zack Ertz again. Tight end Trey Burton had two touchdown receptions in his absence. The Eagles play a total team game and they also have a solid rushing attack. Jay Ajayi finished with 78 rushing yards on 15 carries.

The Eagles are going to have to make plays on defence. They forced key stops and turnovers when the game mattered the most. They are going to have to do this for the rest of the season. Brandon Graham also returned a fumble 16 yards for a touchdown at the end of the game. Philadelphia plays on the road against the New York Giants (2-11) next week.

As for the Rams, Jared Goff completed 16-of-26 passes for 199 yards and two touchdowns. Cooper Kupp was his main receiving target with five receptions for 118 yards and a touchdown.

Todd Gurley was a headache all day for the Eagles defence with 96 yards rushing on 13 carries and two touchdowns. Gurley also caught three passes for 39 yards receiving.

Blake Countess returned a blocked punt 16 yards for a touchdown for the Rams. They have a big NFC West showdown next Sunday on the road against the Seattle Seahawks (8-5).
