The Pro Bowl is an annual event that traditionally takes place the weekend before the Super Bowl. It's an exhibition game featuring some of the best players in the NFL from the most recent season. Players are voted in based on their performance to represent their conferences in specific competitions.

The 2023 Pro Bowl for the 2022 season has concluded its eventful weekend as Super Bowl LVII is now less than a week away. In addition to the actual competition that took place, many other storylines around the NFL emerged from the event.

Here are five of the biggest headlines following this year's Pro Bowl.

#1, Marlon Humphrey can't avoid being questioned about Lamar Jackson

Marlon Humphrey competed at the Pro Bowl. A fan asked him on Twitter after the game if he had been recruiting players to join him at the Baltimore Ravens. He responded to the tweet, claiming that he couldn't talk to any other NFL players without them bringing up the Lamar Jackson situation.

Jackson's contract expired with the Ravens at the conclusion of the season. The two sides have been unable to agree on a long-term contract extension, which has apparently left the entire football world wondering if he will become a free agent this year.

#2, Davante Adams recruits his former quarterback to Las Vegas

The Las Vegas Raiders are currently in a quarterback dilemma entering the offseason. They are reportedly looking for a trade partner to get rid of Derek Carr and want to make a change at the position. Superstar wide receiver Davante Adams addressed Carr during the Pro Bowl, while offering a potential solution.

Adams will apparently be recruiting Aaron Rodgers for the Raiders this year. The duo dominated the NFL for years with the Green Bay Packers, so Adams is hoping to recreate their connection in Las Vegas. The only catch is that Rodgers is still under contract with the Packers, so a trade would need to be agreed to.

#3, New Pro Bowl format

The Pro Bowl experienced a new format in 2023. Players from each conference competed in a series of athletic competitions to earn points towards their final score. Some of the events included dodgeball, driving a golf ball, precision passing and a best catch competition.

The winners of each event added points to their conference's eventual final score. All of the points earned in the new events were added to each team at the beginning of the flag football game. That game then proceeded after adding the earned scores, with the winner at the end of the flag football finale winning the Pro Bowl.

#4, $100 thousand in NFL equipment is stolen

Downtown Phoenix set up an event called the NFL Experience, an interactive activity for football fans at the Super Bowl. More than $100,000 worth of equipment was reportedly stolen from the scene. The crime is currently being investigated, but the NFL has said that it was production equipment that has gone missing, not merchandise.

#5, Myles Garrett suffers an unfortunate injury

Many NFL players, especially in recent years, have decided not to attend the prestigious exhibition event, even when they are voted in. This is usually to avoid the risk of injury. This was unfortunately demonstrated this year by Myles Garrett, who dislocated his toe.

The Cleveland Browns superstar pass rusher will now enter the offseason with an injury after finishing the regular season without it. On the bright side, he reportedly suffered no broken bones, so he's expected to quickly make a full recovery.
