2023 NFL Pro Bowl scoring format

The scoring format for this year's Pro Bowl is truly unique to anything else that's officially hosted by the NFL. The winning conference from each of the eight skill competitions will receive three points toward their final score. This means 24 points will be handed out in this round of the challenge.

Following eight skill events, the two conferences will face off in three separate flag football games. The winners of each of the first two games will earn six points toward their final score, making 12 points available in this round. However many points each conference earns out of a total of 36 will be added to each team’s score at the beginning of the third and final flag football game.

The final flag football game will then be played out as normal, with just a different starting score than 0-0. The team with a higher total score at the conclusion of the third and final flag football game will represent the winning conference in the 2023 NFL Pro Bowl competition.

2023 NFL Pro Bowl: Skills Competition Events

Dodgeball

This is a tournament featuring four teams with five players each. The teams will be conference and unit-specific, so AFC offense, AFC defense, NFC offense, and NFC defense. The two units in each conference will first face off to determine which unit will go to the finals to play against the other conference's winning unit.

Lightning Round

This event will feature 16 players from each conference competing in three events during an eliminator-style competition until just one overall player remains. Round one is called Splash Catch and will be a water balloon toss. Round two is called High Stakes, where players will attempt to catch punts from a JUGS machine.

The final round is called Thrill of the Spill for any player who successfully completed the first two rounds. This is a dunk tank competition, with the first remaining player to hit the target winning their conference points.

Longest Drive

Four players from each conference will get three attempts at driving a golf ball as far as possible. Whoever hits it the furthest in bounds will win their conference three points.

Precision Passing

Three quarterbacks from each conference will each have one minute to hit as many targets as possible by simply throwing the football. Whichever quarterback earns the highest score will give their conference three points.

Best Catch

The first round will take place on Thursday, February 2nd with two players from each conference. They will play highlight reel videos of their most created catches that they theatrically design around Las Vegas. Fans will vote on the best submissions and the two players with the most votes will move on to the finals on Sunday, February 5th.

The two finalists will compete live in front of a panel of judges, who will score each of their catches. It will be scored similarly to the Slam Dunk Contest during NBA All-Star Weekend. The highest scorer earns points for their conference in the final Pro Bowl tally.

Gridiron Gauntlet

Six players from each conference will compete in a relay race on an obstacle course. There will be multiple stations along the way, concluding with pushing a sled across the finish line carrying a legendary coach.

Kick Tac Toe

Kickers and punters from each conference will attempt to kick the football through a traditional tic-tac-toe game board at a long distance. The first team to score three in a row, or five total, will receive points for their conference.

Move the Chains

Each conference will have two teams of five players each competing in this event. Each team will race to move a heavy wall across the finish line as fast as possible. The team that moves the most weight the fastest earns points for their conference at the 2023 NFL Pro Bowl challenge.
