3 NFL players with multiple league and Super Bowl MVPs ft. Patrick Mahomes

Each NFL season features one Super Bowl winner and one player selected to be the MVP of the game. There is also one player named the NFL MVP for their regular season accomplishments. The two different MVP awards are two of the most prestigious individual honors that any player can earn.

Even rarer than winning the MVP awards is winning them more than once. Just six players in NFL history have won multiple Super Bowl MVP awards, while the regular season version features just 10 players with multiple honors. The rarest of all these lists consists of just three NFL players ever to record more than one of each MVP award.

#1 Patrick Mahomes

Patrick Mahomes entered the 2022 NFL season with one of each MVP award. When the season officially concluded, he joined the elite club of multiple-time winners of both. He capped it off with a victory for the Kansas City Chiefs against the Philadelphia Eagles in Super Bowl LVII. This was his second ring, with his first coming when he defeated the San Francisco 49ers in Super Bowl LIV.

Mahomes has impressively reached this legendary milestone in just five seasons as a starting quarterback. His legacy is just starting to be written and he truly has the potential to finish his career as one of the greatest quarterbacks in NFL history.

#2 Tom Brady

Tom Brady represents the gold standard of all records related to the Super Bowl. He has made 10 appearances in the game, winning seven rings and being named the MVP in five of them. All three totals are NFL records during his incredible career with the New England Patriots and Tampa Bay Buccaneers.

In addition to his success in the NFL playoffs, Brady also dominated during the regular season. He was named the NFL MVP three times, the third-most by any player ever.

#3 Joe Montana

Joe Montana was the first quarterback in NFL history to accumulate three Super Bowl MVP awards and the only player, along with Tom Brady, to win more than two. He was also the second quarterback ever to win four rings, joining Terry Bradshaw. He achieved all of them with the San Francisco 49ers.

Joe Montana also added two NFL MVP awards during his iconic career. He was considered by most to be the greatest quarterback of all time before being surpassed by Tom Brady. With both of them now retired, Patrick Mahomes is hoping to one day eclipse both of them.
