The five highest-paid players in Dallas Cowboys history
5) Zach Martin, Guard - $93,985,531
The Dallas Cowboys selected Zachary Martin with the 16th overall choice in the first round of the 2014 NFL Draft.
Since then, the player has established himself as the best guard in the league —possibly even the top offensive lineman — by being selected to nine Pro Bowls and receiving nine All-Pro selections.
When the Cowboys offered Martin a six-year, $84 million contract deal in 2018, they made him the best-paid guard in the league. Martin has made north of $93 million in salary throughout his 10-year career with the Cowboys, according to Spotrac.
4) DeMarcus Lawrence, Defensive End - $117,349,519
DeMarcus Lawrence has been a significant and reliable contributor to the Dallas Cowboys defense for the better part of the last 10 years.
Lawrence is still going strong at age 32 with one year remaining on his massive five-year, $105 million contract he signed with the Cowboys in 2019.
3) Tyron Smith, Offensive Tackle - $119,097,504
Tyron Smith was a premier offensive lineman during his 13 years in Dallas. He was selected to the 2010 All-Decade Team, eight Pro Bowls and five All-Pro teams. Shortly after the 2023 season, he left to sign with the New York Jets, but Cowboys fans will remember him for years to come.
Smith became the highest-paid offensive lineman in the league at the time of his eight-year, $109 million contract deal with the Cowboys in 2014. He made $119 million throughout his 13-year stint at the club.
2) Tony Romo, Quarterback - $127,422,458
Tony Romo is the undrafted player in NFL history to have made the highest salary. The quarterback spent his 13-year career in the NFL with the Cowboys after being signed as a UDFA in 2003.
In Dallas, Romo continues to hold team records for throwing touchdowns, passing yards, games with 300+ yards and games with 3+ touchdown passes. Spotrac estimates that he was paid an astounding $127.4 million during his tenure with the Cowboys.
1) Dak Prescott, Quarterback - $162,317,825
Dak Prescott led all NFL quarterbacks in touchdown passes in the 2023 season that concluded in February. He's now entering the last year of the four-year, $160 million deal he signed with the Cowboys in 2021.
Regardless of whether Prescott's deal is renewed or not, he's still the Dallas Cowboys player with the highest earnings. In his eight years as a Cowboys player, Prescott has made over $162 million, according to Spotrac.
