Not only is the NFL the most followed professional sports organization in the country, but it is also a multibillion-dollar industry. NFL franchises range greatly in valuation; some teams are estimated to be worth over $6 billion, while a few are estimated to be worth over $4 billion.

Sportico estimates that an average NFL team is worth $5.9 billion in 2024, an increase of over 15% from the previous year. Sportico also estimates the total value of the league's teams, including team-related industries, to be $190 billion.

The Cincinnati Bengals are the last-ranked team in the league with their $4.71 billion value in 2024. According to Sportico's calculations, only 15 non-NFL teams globally are worth more than this amount.

The Dallas Cowboys, valued at $10.32 billion, are the most valuable sports franchise globally in 2024.

5) Tampa Bay Buccaneers: $5.5 billion

The Tampa Bay Buccaneers have seen a steady gain in value over the last few years. According to Sportico, the franchise is worth $5.5 billion in 2024.

Joel Glazer is the owner of the Buccaneers; his father paid $192 million for the team in 1995.

The Buccaneers will be looking to return to the postseason in 2024 and potentially make a push for the Super Bowl after quarterback Baker Mayfield led the team to a strong 2023 campaign.

4) Buffalo Bills: $5.08 billion

The Pegula family purchased the Buffalo Bills for an NFL record $1.4 billion in 2014. That deal broke the NFL record for club sales at the time.

Sportico estimates that the Bills are currently worth $5.08 billion in 2024.

3) Detroit Lions: $4.93 billion

The Detroit Lions are seeing positive changes in their fortune. Last season, the team ended their 32-year streak after they advanced to just their second-ever NFC championship game.

The Lions, who are estimated by Sportico to be worth $4.93 billion in 2024, are among the bottom five lowest-valued teams in the league.

The Lions have reason to believe that their value will continue to rise soon now that they are back to playing quality football. Consistent winning, albeit not the main driver, can raise a team's value through more fan engagement and revenue from merchandise.

2) Jacksonville Jaguars: $4.76 billion

Owner Shahid Khan of the Jacksonville Jaguars paid $770 million for the team in 2012. Since then, the team's worth has increased dramatically, reaching a startling $4.76 billion in 2024, according to Sportico. Under Khan's ownership, the team has grown by almost $4 billion.

However, the Bengals are the only team with a lower team worth than the Jaguars, who are currently ranked 31st in the NFL, in terms of team value in 2024.

1) Cincinnati Bengals: $4.71 billion

At $4.71 billion, the Cincinnati Bengals remain the least valuable NFL team in 2024, according to Sportico. In comparison to other clubs, the Bengals have a smaller market and support base, in spite of their recent on-field excellence.

The Cincinnati-based Paycor HCM, Inc. purchased the naming rights to the Bengals' stadium in August 2022. The team's overall value is also impacted by its lack of a significant naming rights agreement.
