5 NFL players likely to be cut in the 2022 offseason

Here are five players who are likely to be released by their current teams during the 2022 NFL offseason.

#3 - S Landon Collins, Washington Commanders

Landon Collins' contract has turned out to be one of the worst in the NFL. Washington made him one of the highest paid safeties of all time, despite being more of a run stopper than a playmaker.

He has only recorded three interceptions in three years in Washington, but is their highest-paid player with a 16.2 million cap hit in 2022. Washington will likely wait until after June 1st to cut him, saving them 12 million dollars against the cap instead of saving 6.6 million if Collins is cut before then.

#4 - OT Bryan Bulaga, Los Angeles Chargers

Bryan Bulaga has only appeared in 11 games over the last two seasons since signing with the Los Angeles Chargers. Injuries have become an unfortunate hurdle for the majority of his NFL career. He is now entering the final year of his contract, and the Chargers can save nearly 11 million dollars in cap space by cutting him.

#5 - CB Trae Waynes, Cincinnati Bengals

Trae Waynes is the highest paid player on the Cincinnati Bengals roster, carrying a cap hit of nearly 16 million dollars in the 2022 NFL season. He hasn't lived up to the contract, appearing in only five total games over the last two seasons. The Bengals could save nearly 11 million dollars by cutting him this year, which seems likely.
