According to a Philadelphia Eagles insider, the team is expected to welcome back injured wide receivers A.J. Brown and DeVonta Smith for its Week 6 matchup against the Cleveland Browns. Reporter Jake Rabadi posted about the development on Monday via a tweet on X.

Brown, who has been kept out of the Eagles' last three games with a hamstring ailment, had a strong start to the 2024 season in Week 1 against the Green Bay Packers. He hauled in five receptions for 119 yards and a touchdown in that game in Brazil. However, he hasn't played for the Birds since.

A.J. Brown's absence has made the Eagles play without their most effective passing weapon in games against the Atlanta Falcons, New Orleans Saints and Tampa Bay Buccaneers.

As one of the league's best wideouts in 2023, the 27-year-old collected 106 catches for 1,456 yards and seven touchdowns.

The Philadelphia Eagles' injuries to offensive players have been a running theme for the season. Wide receiver DeVonta Smith also missed the team's Week 4 matchup against the Tampa Bay Buccaneers due to a concussion. A concussion also kept the team's star offensive lineman, Lane Johnson, out of the Week 4 game, but both players should be back in action for Week 6.

The Eagles were fortunate to have their bye week in Week 5, which allowed the injured players to recuperate and the whole team to regroup after a rocky 2-2 start to the season.

A.J. Brown injury update: Why was Eagles WR ruled out?

Wide receiver A.J. Brown has been unavailable for the Philadelphia Eagles' last three games because of a hamstring injury. Before the setback, he had delivered a strong showing for the team against the Green Bay Packers in the season's opening game.

Brown reportedly had discomfort in his hamstring during practice three days before the Iggles' Week 2 matchup with the Atlanta Falcons. That Friday, he appeared on the team's injury report as a limited practice participant; the next day, he was downgraded to DNP.

Coach Nick Sirianni did not say anything about how long A.J. Brown would likely be out when he was asked after the Eagles' 22-21 MNF Week 2 loss to the Falcons.

"We'll see. I don't know that yet," the Eagles coach said. "You know I won't give you that information yet because I don't know. We'll see how that goes."

Brown, who said he believed he would miss "a couple of weeks" to ESPN's Lisa Salters in Week 2, has now had four weeks away to heal from his hamstring injury. The Eagles will shortly begin practicing for their Week 6 matchup against the Cleveland Browns, and it looks like the receiver is getting ready to make a comeback.
